For context, I work in the UK and my contract of employment states 1 months notice if I resign. I am paid monthly and my contract states that overtime is paid at x1.3333 standard hourly rate. I worked 10 hours overtime in April, it wasn't paid in May and I was assured that it and the 15 hours overtime for May would be paid this month, lo and behold nothing, nada….basic hours paid this month and apparently cannot be rectified until next month. I have also clocked up around 40 hours of overtime this month and I am now worried that I will only receive basic again next month. I have spoken to my manager who said that it was approved to be paid, our payroll department who said that they will rectify once they receive the authorisation from my manager. I have extensively google the situation with no real…
Yup, two months. I had a screener call with an HR lady that I thought went well overall. I didn’t think I would get the job but was still pleased with the exchange. That was the end of April. Just today, two months later, I received my first correspondence from them since that time with the ole “thanks but no thanks.” Uhhh, you think? To put the cherry on top of the day, I am a finalist for a job I really want and was supposed to hear an update on what was going on today. Total crickets. Why are things like this?
context i’ve been working in this position since february which is like two steps above my original position and has a lot of extra responsibilities (on top of my original position’s responsibilities.) I did this because i was bored in my position and i wanted to expedite career growth. in april i was promoted to the position between my original and the one i was actually doing. about three weeks ago my manager told me that they recognized my hard work and were finally gonna promote me to the position i’ve been doing for 5 months. after the most recent paycheck came out and there was no change i went to him and he basically was like sorry, i messed up I’m trying to expedite it but HR changed procedures. I’m just so bummed bc finally i was getting recognized and he fucked up and is making a cushy salary…
They can read your teams chat
If this isn’t a known thing it should be. I’ve had multiple instances of bitches and gripes being semi-addressed (not resolved) from my management without prompting and a cursory internet search will tell you the same. Get your coworkers cell numbers and communicate that way. Shameless plug: discuss your salaries.
Job search is over
After about 2 months of seriously looking for a new job, I got a new one!!!! $20,000 extra a year!!! I’m a huge advocate for fuck that place and do what’s best for you!!! If your job isn’t treating you the way you want to be treated, or isn’t paying you what you believe you deserve, find a company that will. The end.
Suleman Dawood the guy
Suleman Dawood the “child” who died in the Titanic submarine used to brag about his real state properties and how easy was to make millions, his now deleted articles in the WSJ were about too 10 things to do to become like him. Now that his name came to the light all the social medias are deleting his articles to keep his good image and the idea that he was a “scared child” to give millionaires empathy.
