Thank you all for the kind words and messages on my first post which can be found here You all gave me further reassurance that I am making the right decision. I decided to work the 2 weeks, despite having zero reason to, but I want to be a man of my word, even though it makes me suffer a little longer. This past week has only gotten worse as far as toxicity goes, and the work load has gone up. I have agreed with my co worker that we would be each others reference for any future employment, while also contacting previous employees regarding this matter, they have experienced similar abuse. I am planning to report the restaurant to the local health department and department of labor. At my restaurant all tips goes to management, all! Unless we find a way to pocket them ourselves, I heard stories of…
What in the actual FUCK is going on here?
Went Above and Beyond. Got Laid Off.
I used to work at a small company that did research on a growing industry. I was there for almost two years. In that time, I wrote the SOP, trained 10 employees, and designed and printed a bunch of tools. No one else even attempted to make the SOP and the entire company didn't have one before I started. That just shows you how much of a mess it was. All of this was far beyond the job description. And they still laid me off after I was done training the new employees, so they could pay them less than me. Putting in extra effort can be a scam sometimes.
I run a hospitality group and won't let job ads through without the salary/hourly and contracted hours. These are the current NMW (national minimum wages) in the UK right now. April 2023 £10.42 – 23 and over £10.18 – 21 to 22 £7.49 – 18 to 20 £5.28 – Under 18 £5.28 – Apprentice
They get mad at me when I don’t clock in early or when I leave on time and things are a mess, but, they also have this in place so I do exactly what I’m supposed to and nothing more. I want them to get some sort of repercussions for posting this and likely stealing from my coworkers but idk what to do.
Just like teachers.

Lol, I mean I wish
Hi all – currently living in NYC and desperately seeking a full time position before school starts again in the fall. I’ve applied for around 15 positions and got an interview for 1. On the position description, it says they are looking for a 2yr commitment; but on the phone, the person said they are looking for a one year commitment. I only need this job for the next couple of months. Will anything be held against me if I quit before the year is up? I’ll likely not even list this job on my resume, so I’m not worried about their credibility as a reference for future positions. Thank you for reading!
