Corporate greed has ruined my position (assembly/fabrication). Been doing the job of two people for over 2yrs, which was fine until they cut my overtime and have added even more to my workload. Never been so miserable.
Interview or therapy session?
I went for an interview this morning, first big red flag was the place being empty at a time when everything nearby was packed. Second red flag was the owner telling me I was being hired to replace their full-time staff member but “we haven’t told her yet cause we don’t like her, so you’ll have to pretend to be my cousin’s girlfriend so she doesn’t figure it out while you’re learning everything here”. Third red flag was being told none of the other staff speak English, but “you can just call me if I’m not here so I can translate between you”. The woman interviewing me spent a solid 10 minutes telling me all the reasons she hates her employee, none of which had anything to do with her job performance, and another ten minutes venting about how much work it was to convince her “rich husband” to let…
I am literally having to beg for a job.
I hate this so much. I was part of one (of the many) big tech layoffs this year in April. A big cloud based ERP company. And then a month after our restructuring they posted a 30% increase in revenue which was billions is profit for them. Not a typo, they had a 30% increase and still had internal layoffs. 4 of my deals were handed to other reps and they immediately closed them. I received zero for that work. The severance was laughable, so now I'm paying more than my mortgage for health insurance. And since then I have applied to over 100 companies, had dozens upon dozens of interviews and made it to round 6 with four different companies. All to be given a “Thank you for your Interest” email at the end and they go with someone else. I hate this. I hate that companies can be…

Can my boss cancel my flight home?
Hi everyone! I'm a defense contractor for a mid tier firm in Kuwait. Recently my work environment has become hostile and so I decided to take an offer with a different firm. I submitted 2 months notice which is customary for my line of work outside the US. I spoke to my night shift manager about my frustrations regarding my work environment, how I felt unappreciated and that my coworkers were assassinating my character behind my back,to the other managers. He was sympathetic and asked what I would like to do. I told him since we were only working two days the week after next, and my flight home was on the 29th, I'd like to vacation out those days and take a trip somewhere to decompress before I left for good. He thought that was a good idea. I also shared my concern that the other managers would give…
I work as a disability support worker in Australia. It’s a team of people working 24/7 with 3 clients. It’s a lot of pressure to do all your shifts no matter what obviously because we can’t leave the clients without the support they need. Sometimes shit happens though, I’ve been legitimately sick, messaged my team leader the day before and he said I need to message other staff and find my replacement, no one said yes, I had to do my shift feeling like crap. This doesn’t seem right to me?in any world are employees expected to find shift cover before calling in sick?
