Tldr; denied a raise because my job title hasn't changed in almost three years despite more responsibilities. Hello, long story is long. 2 years and 11 months ago I started working with my step-dad at a local factory as a material handler. Original job duties were taking paperwork to the warehouse and delivering supplies to one location. Fast forward several years and that has grown to me doing three people's positions due to layoffs and me “taking one for the team” due to working with family. Responsibilities now include keeping track of inventory for two entire departments, paperwork for a third and forklift and lift truck delivers of pipe and coil to warehouse, and moving inventory when and where it's needed no questions asked, office supply deliveries for most of our engineering department, and fixture delivers to r&d for verification. This August after several “lateral” movements between departments and new…

So, I’m not a lawmaker, these are just examples. I know it may seem ‘extreme’ but you’ll get the idea. Change tax incentives, give small businesses the biggest tax cuts and big businesses(lets say over a billion $ in yearly revenue) gets heavily taxed. On top of the tax, these ‘billion dollar’ monopolies get a profit reduction. For example instead these companies getting “record profits” like business revenue going up 364% and more the next year: It’s limited to 10% growth. The additional revenue beyond the set percentage goes to the government. The excess revenue goes to the government. Strictly regulated and it’s only allowed to go towards the people/ infrastructure. My hope is, these massive companies will fund communities and not create more billionaires. With a focus on education and schools. No more starving kids. All people should at least get free college education through the community college. I…
I dared the broach the topic of our terrible attrition problems, which HR has literally been caught saying will be an easy solution for the upcoming recession so we won’t have to deal with laying off as many people. This was the smarmy response from a woman making 7 figures and about to take a 3-week vacation to Europe.
I did perfectly fine on my first phone interview but I feel like my second interview didn’t go well. She said she would be interviewing more people and will get into contact with me later in the week. At the beginning of the interview she asked me what my reasoning for being three minutes late was but I was having computer difficulties. I feel like I miss answered some of the questions she asked me and I feel like I do better in in person interviews. Am I just overthinking it? Edit more detail on to what happened I feel like the first interview went amazing the day before on the phone but unfortunately that person was a recruiter not the hiring manager. But as soon as I logged on my zoom the hiring manager said hello and I said hello back with a smile but then she immediately asked…
CEO broke the law?
Just about two years ago I reported employees (who happened to be the CEOs son and his son's friends) to HR for inappropriate and unacceptable conduct while working. After the investigation ceased, the CEOs sons and friends all started to treat me different. I later found out that the CEO went through the HR files of complaints and found out it was me. Are there any Us federal laws against these types of actions?
Ironic, because his job probably rules and he loves it.
Coworkers lied about my bonus
I just finished my first year as an accountant. End of year review just came up and to know what to expect, I asked some of my coworkers what I should prepare for. I asked what salary and bonus increase to expect, just to get some footing. My coworkers explained to me that my bonus would be 7k so I was very pleased. I just finished busting my ass for 5 months during busy season so it seemed like a reasonable number. Cut to the meeting with my boss, and she lets me know that actual bonus was 3k. I acted pleased in the meeting, but I was extremely upset. I know I wouldn’t do that to my new coworkers, so I was caught way off guard. What a weird thing to joke about? After the meeting, the coworkers that lied to me walked up to me laughing like it…
How to get by.
What’s going on guys? I am a 24 year old male From Maryland USA, coming on here for some genuine help and advice. I hate working that’s obvious what’s not so obvious is how my days are quite literally passing by me as the hours that I work are so much that I get little or basically no free time whatsoever, I didn’t go to college or university I know that doesn’t mean much but to get my point across I got into the blue collar life, now consumed all day and every day with my blue-collar job. I would like you guys to help me out or give me some advice, or some sort of guidance,…
