How can I find out my passion and pursue it? I love singing and drums but as a career do not see it as promising and source of income.
a coalition?
Hi Reddit, I read many posts on r/antiwork thought I’d make a post and get some opinions/feedback on something I am working on. I’m a recent graduate who is looking at the shitty tech job market. A couple of my college friends and I want to build something to unite youth together, a coalition of young advocacy leaders on a mission and bring ourselves flourishing, joy, and social justice through open collaboration and direct actions. I wanna hear your opinions on that, also down to a chat if anyone has time, just DM.
Should I start doing worse work?
I have been at a new position for a while now. I have done it extremely well and turn around work that is assigned to me quickly and with high quality. Now they want to me to do the responsibilities for the same position out of another location so they don’t have to hire someone there. I will receive no title change or pay increase. I do not see a way to avoid these responsibilities, so should I engage malicious compliance and half ass it? Low quality and long turn around times?
What do you do all day?
I work an office job that consists of only 2-3 hours of work. I arrive at 8am and I’m usually all caught up by 10am. I spend the rest of my day usually on Reddit or watching videos/movies at my desk. What else could I be doing with my time? Note: I do not want to generate extra business for the company so I refuse to prospect/proactively call/any of that bs. Any work related answers are obviously wrong. Just looking for easy time wasters I can do at my desk.
I used to work at a cafe and quit after 3 months. It wasn’t worth it. Even if I was scheduled 40hr a week I was cut halfway, or even an hour, into my shifts. My average salary was less than 1000 a month. I make way more doing apps like instacart, etc. Recently when I had a nail in my tire and couldn’t do delivery, Cafe happened to reach out asking me to work for them again. I said I’ll give them two weeks, because of old times sake and they could have time to find a replacement. I waited for a paycheck to enter my bank account for weeks. I came in the middle of a pay period of two weeks, so I expected to have two checks. I understand when I start a job, it takes a while to get that first paycheck before they become consistent.…
