My job implemented a (conditional) 1pm end time Friday but said if you have work to do you can’t end at that time. They just talked to me about “you don’t have to end at 1; we don’t want you to not be caught up on Monday”. Like I understand if something is urgent or a set deadline. But if it’s minor work that CAN be pushed till Monday, we should be entitled to that. As you may guess, the job emphasized work-life balance in the culture yet will message you or not approve things until after hours. When I set boundaries they seem annoyed. I feel like I’m being punished for setting boundaries.

Hello girls, Im working as an exec assistant in an office. Its a construction office but my role is primarily within the office space. There is an expectation from me to dress up excessively as in heels and full on makeup. Im just not sure how to do this in such rough environment. Also, Is this normal for boss to be little flirty in this job position? I posted on another forum and someone suggested that its normal.

i work at a private k-12 art school and my director blatantly went against what i asked twice. when i was hired i was very clear i only wanted to teach 6-12 grade. its personal preference, nothing against small kids i just am not the right person to teach them. director schedules me for a teen class as my first class, it went great! then he scheduled me for a 3-5th grade. i didn’t say anything, which IS my fault. then, he asks if i can take a week for someone who walked out. again, my fault for not asking what age range it was, but i said okay. he sent me the info and it was fucking k-2. i was SO pissed. i rly need advice. i’m in a place financially where leaving and being out of work for a few weeks will not hurt me. i feel bad…

I'm (30F) a software dev, been here since January, and this job has been weird to say the least. It's a small company, about 15 people total, that preaches they're like family but the environment is the most toxic I've ever been in. To name a few things wrong with this job: – you don't get a work computer, and have to use your personal computer / laptop – my boss (the CEO) hired a friend from his gym as my new project manager. this friend was actually a personal trainer in that gym and it's his first office experience. me and my coworkers have to babysit him because he can't handle the pressure and barely understands the technology (it's been almost two months and he's nowhere near ready to be a project manager. the CEO insists we “have to take care of him”). – we have no organization, no…

I never thought internship could be this humbling. More work, less pay. I don't even know if I'll make it to 10th without groceries.
