I just moved to Idaho 2 months ago finally got a job after like 200 applications. So i started working for $12.50 an hour because I needed something. There have been multiple arguments made by left-wing politicians as to why we need more immigrants and I will address some of the common ones. “People do not want to work certain jobs that immigrants would happily do.” People do not want to work these jobs because they pay nowhere near as much as they should or enough to be able to live comfortably. These jobs are usually blue collar, which increases your chance of injury and general health degradation. People should be paid very well and provided with health care instead of importing cheap labor. “We need immigrants because our birth rates are too low.” Birth rates in western nations are too low because people do not have enough money to have kids. i apologize in advance if this is the wrong subreddit to post in. delete it if it’s not the correct one. as the title states, i am a recent graduate with a m.s. in psychology. i have extensive knowledge in research and various protocols but focused my capstone on mindfulness-based interventions (mbi’s) on veterans with ptsd. in addition, i took a variety of courses— that while still had me utilize research strategies (e.g. article searching, writing scholarly work)— touched on subjects of mental health and counseling. currently struggling on locating jobs that don’t require a license or further education as i am beyond burnt out from school, but feeling utterly overwhelmed and that i wasted 5 1/2 years to obtain this degree. i feel failed from my program as it forced me into research when i truly am not attempting for that path and not looking into the counseling route…

Hello! I am a employee of a non corporate Starbucks that is inside a Target shopping center. So I technically work for target and get Target benefits. However a bunch of things have been happening since I was hired 11 months ago. So my main team lead for Starbucks (we can call her bossy), doesn’t know how to do her job. That’s right, she has worked at the SAME position for 25+ years and doesn’t know how to do her job (that’s not even the worse part). After graduating, I started looking for a job as a trainer in English language. So, I was fairly new to the working environment but I've always tried to maintain good with ethic and a professional relationship with my employer. When I started the job, I was promised an incentive on every student that I teach as long as they get a desired result. Fast forward to one month in, 3 of my students did achieve a very good score, but I was not given any incentive. It was said to be that I only trained them for a few weeks so it wouldn't count.
