am i just entitled or
i need a part-time job bc my full-time receptionist job isn’t paying enough. i worked in retail 2 yrs ago at this store. i called asking if they were hiring and explained the situation. i quit but i stayed for the 2 weeks so i could be hired back just in case. the lady on the phone told me to fill out an online application and that i should hear back by memorial day. i called on memorial day and a diff person said i should get an email with a link to schedule an interview. here we are a week later, still no email. bruh i used to work there—why are all these places so picky???? has anyone tried to go back to their old job and got hired back or rejected.
Best way to waste time at work?
I have the classic 9-5 computer desk job and even though 100% of my work can be done from home my boss refuses. Also there is not nearly enough work to fill an 8 hr day. What’s the best way to make my days go faster? My boss sits right across from me so gaming or TV isn’t really an option but he can’t see my screen. I’ve got Reddit and ebooks, just looking for a few more creative ideas. Thanks!
Let’s not normalise working into old age

Putting together some of my own thoughts with things I’ve read recently in this sub and others: After WW2, the United States was in a unique position of being the only major power without a significant negative economic impact from the war. As a result, the post-war boom that fueled the vision of American life was largely subsidized by other countries providing very low cost labor and to some extent captial (particularly natural resources). This seems to have continued until around the late 90s when the macroeconomic situation began to change. Many countries enveloped in poverty have moved large portions of their populations to middle income. Billions of people worldwide have gone from providing very cheap labor verging on exploitation, to now becoming demand competition for global goods and services. To what degree is the current economic situation the US (increasing cost of living and decreasing quality of living) part…
Declining population/workforce
I finally feel like we are reaching a breaking point. Declining birth rates, and workforce. This is what extremist capitalism has created. Pretty soon, there won’t be enough consumers to satisfy these giant corps. This is a system they have created. People cannot afford to have children or families anymore
