A little rebellion

Hey guys. Just discovered this subreddit thanks to a tip from a kind stranger. I have always been an idealistic, common sense type of guy. I’m sure it made me a very difficult kid to raise. I could never justify selling hours of my life to a system I not only saw no benefit from, but actually would make me complicit in things I have a moral opposition to. After switching careers every few years… I realized, being an employee would never work for me. So. I started a business. I wanted it to allow for creativity, flexibility and help with the depletion of our natural resources in some way. So, I became a woodworker that works with recycled and up-cycled materials. Sounds like some hippie stuff, I know. It is. The government still takes way too big a piece of my pie, but at least I’m doing things on…

Applying for jobs not qualified for the best route to getting paid well?

Wondering if lying and applying for jobs I’m not even qualified for is the best route to getting a job that’s not $15-$18 an hour and pays much better. And how many people has this worked for?

Trying to find a new place once my current work place finally drives me to the breaking point (again)

I'm (female) a 27-year-old with high-functioning autism and a learning disability (possibly having gained anxiety and/or depression w/suicidal thoughts from time to time on my worst days). I'm working at a certain grocery store bakery (wont say the name but the first and last part of the name ryme and you just have to change the first letter), and have been for three years (4 in August). When I first started at the age of 24, I was a naive worker who believed that I'd be rewarded for paying my dues and working hard. So I was hired and worked about 3-4 days a week part time 6:30 – 1. I first started working with a co-worker and a manager. A few months after co-worker left on the spot and I was left to man the bakery all on my own. My manager was running around taking care of things…

Over it all

This is just a small little rant about how exhausting it is trying to thrive in a capitalist society. I’m not poor, but I’m living pretty close to pay check to paycheck. I’m just tired all the time. I want to be able to retire one day and actually live my life. It just feels like I’m never going to get there. Every time I save up and feel good, the world just smacks you in the face again. Time and time again, you can never get ahead and man does it beat you down sometimes. End of rant. Happy Sunday scaries everyone.
