So I’ve bought my boss lunch a few times when she can’t go out and she always says she will pay me back but I think she’s paid me maybe 2-3 times. It’s never huge purchases, but it does add up. I don’t want to be a nag but at the same time I kinda need the money. I know this group is usually go for the jugular, but seriously, how do I professionally handle this? I’ve tried to not get her lunches but it still comes up sometimes and I never get paid back. What would you do?

Some Australian perspective
As the title says, I had my annual review today(everyone in the company gets their yearly reviews at the same time). My manager fought to get us a raise. But she informed us that the people at the top didn't want to give us any raise this year. I work in logistics in the US in customer service. Due to all of the snow that the midwest faced this winter, a few of our depots are still behind, just due to 100+ inches of snow that came from the winter. One of them has around 200 shipments on their dock plus about six trailers that are waiting to be unloaded, and freight doesn't stop coming in, just because they're behind. With that all being said. The reason the higher ups didn't want to give us any sort of increase in pay is because of all of the weather delays, despite…

Manager wants a doctor’s note
Yesterday my wife had a serious accident while cooking, and I took her to the hospital. Everything turned out okay, but she was crying the whole night. I didn’t want to leave her alone (I work Night Shift) and called off that night and the night after. I called my manager and my manager told me to get a doctor’s not stating that she can’t be left alone. My company has a policy that allows you to take unlimited paid time off. This is in Seattle, Washington. Am I required to provide a doctor’s note?
This is who you are working for
Progressive Era I thought shit got bad due to policy changes in the 70s, but it’s been slowly getting worse for a long time since WW1 and exacerbated during the post WW2 consumerism boom, check out the phobeus cartel(they introduced planned obsolescence as a tool to bolster the economy) So in seeing there was a collective emphasis to address the consequences of corruption we today, BEFORE WW1 makes me think we’re too deep in it to get out. But I’m a cynic and don’t got the best mindset anymore. We can get out through intensive reform, but idk if that’s happening as countries start building alliances for the next war
I had an interview and part way through, the interviewer asked me what my favorite drink is and I said water. He gave me a weird look and said “C’mon, you can do better than that.” I didn’t know what to say so I didn’t say anything and we just sat there and looked at each other for about 15 seconds in silence. He stops the interview and said I’m not what they are looking for. I’m not sure what that was all about, but i feel like I dodged a bullet.
