Pet Greivance
I feel like it's unnecessary when they could have just sent a message? Maybe its just me, I usually always ask “hey can I give you a call?” Unless its an emergency. My manager is the only one doing that btw, out of the 3 managers I have.
I have an interview this week at a company that I really want to get in with. My current job is draining and has had a huge impact on my mental health and I want to lease asap. I’d like to start with them immediately if they are down, but also don’t want to raise a red flag that I’m the type that quits without notice (I’ve always given notice at previous jobs). Any advice? Should I just wait for 2 weeks?
Please Help: Getting Laid Off
I live in Nebraska. I found out today I will be laid off. I will be laid off on or before Q1 2024. I am *so* tired of working shit jobs for shit companies that dont give shit about me and stressing daily about keeping a job. I don't think I have any disorders which could be used to claim disability; I am fairly depressed and occasionally suicidal. Also addicted to opioids (currently on Methadone). Is there any way I can use the system to my advantage to claim disability and stop trading my time/life for dollars? I currently earn about $2k/mo net/take-home/after-tax: I'm worried even if I do get some kind of disability I wont be able to pay all my bills (rent, food, antisuicide juice (methadone), car ins, credit cards). I'm stupid, please give me step by step instructions.
Clocking into work early
I work at a large warehouse for a big corporation. I've been working there for 2 years now. We are encouraged to clock into work 10 minutes early. Granted even if we clock in the full 10 minutes early we don't actually start working until the official start time, but our start times are altered on the app we use every day so that they don't have to pay us for those extra minutes. I'm wondering if im entitled to the pay for those minutes? Obviously ten minutes of pay isn't a lot for a single day, but over years it really adds up.
Worked at this place for five years, my ideas bolstered their production efforts at maximum 33million a year. When I asked if I could be compensated at one percent of that for a bonus I received “we pay for performance, not ideas” Was blackballed by the company and was forced to quit out of principle after management lied directly to my face about being on probation and not being able to receive a counter offer. Now the workers are putting effort into becoming a union and I could not be happier about it. https://teamidt.org/index.html
