I start a new job today. It's in a doctor's office. The place seemed normal but the only thing that is worrying me is that the doctor said this during the interview. He went out of his way to tell me he will never yell at me while I am working at the front desk and said he “never gets angry”. Such weird statements. Almost like he's a hothead who does the exact opposite. Is this a red flag for concern?

So long story short but the company has treated me like shit but I'll likely be stuck here for a while longer. What can I do while in the office that could be useful for me personally? There's a few others here so I wouldn't be able to speak over the microphone etc, I was thinking perhaps Duolingo etc but some exercises require voice. Anything you could recommend would be great

Did anyone quit without any backup? My job this year has become completely unbearable. To the point where I am getting anxiety attacks every evening. I truly enjoyed and excelled at my job last year. I work in the media which means you oftentimes have to accept a low salary in lieu of many perks. Which was fine by me. So, I'm looking for a new job, going part time while setting up my own business. I'm seeing a growing trend of “part time” jobs, being advertised as 37.5hrs. Even had a recruiter offer me a 35hr a week job, 9-5 Monday to Friday with a 1hr lunch. Hi all, the company I work for has the bad habit of pushing anything that half resemble a computer (basically also a calculator) to the IT department, and even when told them that we don't know what the thing is, how it works, and to whom they have to speak with, they end up always asking: but can you give it a look? I cannot scream into the phone to them, given that most of them are higher-up in the chain, or just make them understand the job is not of our competence, so am asking you what else can be done from our side to avoid/prevent it?
