universal Health Care
never really realized how much this is needed until i had to go to the er twice in one week. my medicaid should cover most of my expenses but damn i dont even want to know what sort of bill i racked up with all the care i needed. that being said how can we achieve this without making doctors quit due to low wages or something? my first thought would be to cut spending on some of these other things the government keeps funding but i just dont know where. i dunno man something needs to change because i feel for people who are in a similar situation but dont have something like medicaid.
I posted a thread in AskHr and all of the people who replied said I’m an insubordinate, entitled, lazy individual because I refused to listen to my manager after she started yelling and threatening me. One commenter even said “managers are allowed to yell and frankly even be mean to their employees” Like WTH?? Who in their right mind wants to work for someone who treats their employees like that?? Like yes I’m sure from a technical standpoint, I was in the wrong, but in no way should any manager be allowed to yell and definitely I should be allowed to stand up for myself. One day businesses will have NO ONE to work for them and they will all stand there looking clueless! You mean people don’t want to work for us for low pay, incompetent managers, and abuse??
Seriously this guy is desperate to hire anyone and point blank told me “if you need to support your family you can't with this job.” How the hell is he shocked he can't hire anyone???
37M Autistic/Aspergers High Support/Functioning. I was at a job where our boss got made redundant 5 years in, so for the next 3, until I got made redundant, my co-worker/now friend for life (BFF) continued working like he told us/taught us how to run our work environment, we didn't know any better, all authority figures were gone, cats way mice will play etc. Forward to current day, I am in a new job with another boss (history repeating) where they have retired, yet I still find I am doing the same things I was told, even though they are gone/the link in the chain is broken. Does anyone else do this? how can you stop? should I stop? I do have a new boss, but they keep saying business as usual, so I don't know if it is just my overthinking or there is a solution.
I did construction and manufacturing in Mid Michigan for almost 25 years, then I moved out to Seattle. I had help, I'm not saying it's easy and it is expensive to live here. I simply wanted to comment about the job market. I was fired from my previous job at a hospital and I have employers swarming me even though I only have a high school diploma. I know this sub is about how shitty working is for coprorations and stuff but if anyone needs a hand with some information, I want to provide that. I am from a very rural area and the difference to me was shocking. When I was first in the job market, we were in that weird area between the internet becoming a thing and still having to pound the pavement and harass employers to get hired. Now you can just let indeed do all…
I’m finally quitting my job
I have worked in a literal prison for the past three years, 12 hour shifts 5 days in a row for 2 of those years. I have missed the birth of my nieces, their birthdays, family gatherings, and major holidays all because “someone needs to do it and everyone else has done it for years.” I have watched my coworkers recieve calls that their family members have been hurt and then have to wait HOURS for someone to relieve them from their post. I have had actual breakdowns in the office, give a wet paper towel and been told to go back to my post because, “you're too young to be feeling like this and it can't be that bad.” I have risked my life stopping others from killing someone else and no effort has been made to make sure I was OK. I've seen an person's flesh bubble in…
