I am sorry if you lost someone to Covid. I am sorry if it ruined your family busines or if you lost your job. I am sorry if you suffer from long Covid. But for me and probably Millions of other workers, the lockdowns were the best part of life. During the first Lockdown I had 3 Months of free time while getting paid. During the second lockdown I had HALF A YEAR of free time! This was the longest I had free time and didnt have to worry about money in my entire life. I managed to read – to cook and live healthy – to train – to meet with friends and family. I was finally able to live once in my life. One of the most well known restaurant groups have started closing on holidays like memorial day, Labor Day, July 4th, etc. Employees get a full shift pay, too. They are drowning in applications. Other restaurant groups are following suit because they can’t hire/retain, or doing polls to see what employees want to work those days. If they can’t get a full staff, then they don’t open.

Ok so a house or kids/a family are out of the question. But in recent years I have been struggling to maintain even my regular life. My saving are mostly gone. I have 400 Dollars in the bank. I have already cut back on pretty much everything – yet I still spend more than ever and it keeps getting worse. I already buy the cheapest brands and skip some meals. I already moved to a cheaper apartment. My car is 8 years old and I use every trick in the book to keep it going and doing most small repairs by myself. I buy second hand products. I unsubsribed from all streaming, I dont even have a tv. I dont even go out with my budy anymore because the pub is to expensive.
