Almost wanted to walk out today, but I didn't because I need this job for work experience. I like the job but, yet again, like most jobs I've had, I'm the only person fucking doing anything. Manufacturing job if anyone asks.

We had a customer die on our works door step, a customer who we have all known for years.

Our head manager said it’s “more of an innocence than anything else” and to keep open regardless of the fact my co-worker and manager watched him die. He was an older guy who died of a heart attack suddenly. He was coming in for his usual. Yet we remained open. “Inconvenience”. Jesus.

PTO payout assured then ghosted

I worked remotely in Arkansas for a company based out of Missouri, and was laid off at the end of March. During that final meeting, i was assured that my PTO was earned and I was entitled to it, so they would pay it out with my final paycheck. Our payday was Tuesday, it was not included. They did not respond to emails. I called the HR manager yesterday, she said the boss had been out of office for the start of the week and she was unaware that was to be included, but would resolve it that day. That has not happened either. Do i have any options or am i just screwed? Also, its been two weeks since i've filed for unemployment and it hasnt been approved. Are they involved in that process as well and could be hindering it? Thank you

I’ll never have true freedom

Today it hit me watching my rich friends snapchats. I’ll never have true freedom. I know what it looks like, but I’ll never achieve it. This man is in his early 30’s and does nothing but golf, hike, swim in his family pool, and workout all day every day. I’ll never inherit a dime, and I’ll like sit behind a desk at my bs corporate IT job until I’m too old to do much. Thems the breaks though.

Explained to supervisor why I need income…

My workplace is going through financial troubles, in spite of it being one of the largest employers where I live. To help with the budget shortfall, my supervisor has been exploring ways to cut costs, especially with regard to my part-time internship. I’m just about done with grad school, just about done with my internship contract, and I just need things stable until I finish school, SO THAT I CAN FINISH SCHOOL. This week my supervisor proposed pausing my work and my pay for two months to help with the budget shortfall. I freak out, given that this is my only source of income right now and this is very sudden and awful timing. I’m in the thick of finishing my thesis and need to focus, I have no money, etc. So… I have expended a lot of time and emotional labor explaining, to an adult, why I can’t just……
