I'm a mid 20s female. Most people my age know how to use computers. Knowing how to send an email is NOT A SKILL and will not make me stand out from other applicants WHO ALSO KNOW HOW TO USE COMPUTERS. My parents are idiot boomers who didn't even finish school. They don't know how to text or use the internet. My mother is an only child and inherited her parents' home at a young age and my father got a settlement years ago after getting injured at his factory job—he now lives on disability because his back hurts. My mother works part-time minimum wage in a hospital cafeteria. They're always talking about how easy it is to live on benefits/minimum wage, and that they can't understand why other people complain so much. They also can't understand why I can't afford to rent an apartment. I've explained to them multiple…

Can I be fired for a injury?
Few months back I ruptured my achillies during a sports game. Not work related. I work construction so a part of my job is to use ladders, due to my injury I am unable to get on a ladder yet. My supervisor just informed me that they could let me go due to not being able to perform my work duties (being on a ladder). I guess my question is, can they let me go because of this? I’m in Colorado, USA
i [f21] work with animals. I make a little less than 40k/year in a high-cost of living area; my partner makes over double which allows me to continue working here. For the most part its awesome. I love it. But its weeks like these that I feel exhausted to my core. They want me to work a full 7 days and put in around 50-55hrs of work this week, with 10 hours happening friday and coming back to work 1AM that night until about 5am. They want me to 'take a nap' saturday and continue working. If I don't continue working Saturday, I'm going to have to only take Sunday and half Monday off. After working for 7 days a week, I'l get 1.5 days off. These overnight shifts are some of the most physically demanding things I've ever experienced, not to mention Friday will be a full 10 hours…
I wish I loved my job
I wish I was like the people at work around me enjoying their day and feeling passionate about what they do, it seems easier like going on work every day and actually wanting that. Not just doing it for the paycheck and waiting the day to end, each day for 4 weeks for 12 month by year.
