Harassment In The Workplace

Throw away account due to the nature. Over the years, I've experienced harassment from a supervisor because of my sexual orientation. Unfortunately, it's not an isolated incident, as others have also witnessed this supervisor engaging in sexual harassment toward others. Despite wanting to report this behavior to HR, there's apprehension due to the supervisor's seniority and age, having been with the company since 2010 and being part of the baby boomer generation. Most of my coworkers belong to younger generations, such as Generation X, Millennials, and Generation Z. I'm worried about retaliation for speaking out due to my actions. The supervisor frequently frightens me by shouting my name and poking me in the sides, actions which are unique to me. Others have also observed this behavior. The supervisor is using their position of power to their advantage and is becoming increasingly comfortable with their inappropriate behavior. The crude jokes and…

My boss told me not to abuse the WFH policy

Long story short, I just joined a company and took a job that I think I thought I would love. It’s hybrid and we can choose which day to go to the office but it’s been set to 2/3 days per week in office now. My boss suddenly mentioned that someone else abused this “privilege” and she had to talk to that person during our conversation this week since I can’t meet the requirement this week due to some health issues. But I had let her know this beforehand. Is that a warning? Is it a bad sign? Does that mean she already has some bad impression on me? My guess is yes but I am not so sure. I have been here for just a month. Definitely don’t want to leave so soon. Not sure what I can do in this situation. Any help will be appreciated.

So should I sue

I got fired from my job of 18 years due to “poor performance”. The weird thing is about a week before I got my annual wage review I got a raise and told they were happy with my performance. I didn’t get any warnings , very few reviews over the past 5 years or a PIP. I already landed with a competitor with similar pay but is it worth my time to sue. Thoughts?

Former MLB Player owes me $8,125.50 violated labor laws and LATE PAYMENTS

Was hired for a former MLB Player's blockchain company. He made me work for his partner's NFT company. They made me do work outside of the scope of my work. At first, I didn't mind because the pay was ok for remote work. Initially, I had no problems with them but payments were late multiple times. I was told I would get paid and then on the day of payment nothing would happen or some lame excuse would come up. I worked long hours everyday and my salary was $65K. I wasn't “asked” to work long hours and on weekends but it was implied because it was a startup that I should work hard. After I suddenly quit due to stress of not being paid, in a phone call I was told by the former MLB player that I could rejoin the team after a “heart to heart phone call”.…

In Brazil medical assistance are much cheaper here than in the US, this is not included in the GDP, several times the inhabitants themselves help you with things for free, small services that would be paid for in other places. if we had to pay for all these things, it would increase GDP.

Under investigation for left field accusations

Coincidentally exactly one week after wanting to walk out over complaining about sexism and unfair treatment in my work department I was taken into the office with only one assistant store manager right when clocking in. I was put in a zoom meeting with higher ups in the company and assumed it was about my complaints from the prior week but was greeted with unusual questions about safety and company policies. I was then confronted that I had been reported for “stealing from the company “ which is absolutely absurd but admitted to sampling most production I would prepare to make sure everything tasted right. They then proceeded to ask me how much I could admit to stealing from the company this way over the course of 7 years. Very confused I said I had no idea which wasn’t an acceptable answer. I was pressured to guess random money amounts…

I don’t have an issue with initial low pay at a job, it’s the never being promoted despite working hard that I hate.

Plus, the expectation that I'm supposed to kiss ass to get promoted. No, if I fucking work hard I should be promoted, that's how it should be. I'm tired of seeing lazy assholes be promoted because they go around sucking everyone's ass at the job. That shouldn't even be a thing.

Dear potential employers:

If you conduct an interview, and at the end of that interview, you commit to letting the interviewee know “one way or the other”, please actually do this. The radio silence certainly lets us know eventually, but feedback about why you've selected another candidate gives us info on what to do differently in our next interview. Not to mention the fact that we've taken our valuable time & gas (or even more time & plus money on public transit) to come meet with you, while it takes 2 minutes of your time to type up an email or make that phone call. Just because someone is looking for a job doesn't mean that we are unworthy of you keeping your word.

Was denied a transfer, due to “being in probationary period.” New hire just transferred in their first month.

Venting/ asking for advice? Lurked on here a bit, thought I might rant. I work for a very structured entity and during my first month of employment two vacancies in our department were opened that would have dropped my commute by 40-45 minutes each way. I was told by a district supervisor that they “sent it up the chain, and their was nothing that could be done due to being in a probationary period.” I was also discouraged from applying to these other positions through normal channels by my direct supervisor (a crony of the district supervisors) and to be grateful because the drive could have been even longer if given a different position. I have both of those communications, via email, saved. That brings us to this past Friday I see that a new employee hired in March, still very well in their probationary period has taken a transfer…
