They represent the company, not the workers. Most of the worker abuse comes directly from them. The excuse I hear is that low-level managers/supervisors have no say, and of course, they are just dogs on a leash of C-level people (that are on the leash of shareholders btw), and it is the fault of the system that they are often demonic people. Yet if they only did the minimum they had to, without their own evil/pride added to it, the world would be a much much better place. People have died because of abusive management. If you are an exception to this rule, and actually a decent manager, I see you the same way as a good company owner in the sea of wolfs. If you disagree with me, answer this question: Who is the first in line to oppose and split up worker unions?
It's been incredibly frustrating for us. For context, my partner has a disability called cyclic vomiting syndrome, which will randomly put him out sick. Sometimes it's so extreme we have to take hospital trips to drug him up and shut him down. Unfortunately, he is strictly WFH because of his condition and was laid off a while back (not because of his disability). He has several years of experience working in team lead positions, but has no desire to take on that particular role anymore and would rather work in a support position. One look at his resume, and he gets passed over immediately due to being overqualified, not to mention the mass layoffs in the tech industry and all employers suddenly demanding everyone go back into the office. Getting on disability has also been a hurdle. His doctor has told us he has done everything he can, and will…
Memory of my first job
Sp this memory cropped up when I read about someone's dealings with NEXT. My first job was with them and they don't care about anything if it doesn't benefit themselves. I'd been taken to the hospital for severe pain (turned out to be my pancreas causing havoc), and when the person I was dating at the time told them, they said, “we'll they're going to have to ring us up and tell us themselves”. I couldn't, so when I went to work, they tried to write me up for an unexplained absence. Only thing that saved me that day was the GP app because I could view my medical record and documents. Second time I was taken to hospital, this time for my hip (I suffer with a lot of mobility issues, but this was still the early days of it), when I came back to work on crutches, the…
Mandatory meeting now during shift?
I have a “mandatory” meeting with my part time job during a day I don’t even work. I feel like I should go because it’s been crazy at work but also like…. I only work weekends, why should I go? Also a new worker said they would only go if I did lol. I’m just a weekend worker -_-
The Neet Wealth index
Wealth should be measured by the theoretical time one can live comfortably without working.
Why are you not recording?
!!!!Pls check the exact laws in regard to recording people in your country!!!!!!, If some management guy tries to scream at workers you can simply record it, once or many times, and then even anonymously send it to HR or other departments/people in the company.
I’m on mobile so please excuse formatting. I work in a Logistics company and recently one of my coworker quit. The account she had was tossed over to me without a heads up and it’s too much work for one person with my other accounts. Not to mention the manager who oversees this account likes to micromanage. Everything I do ends up being the wrong thing or just likes to nitpick. It just got to the point where I’m over it, especially since I’m not even being paid that much. Should I call up a meeting with HR and my manager and try to either find a plan for this account? I’m honestly at my last straw.
