Bakery owner won’t give us w2s

My wife posted in here last night and I’d like to clarify some things. Basically I’m a baker at a smaller local bakery and our owner gave us an incorrect W2 and has yet to give us corrected ones. I’ve only worked here for about a year but this has been an issue in the past. Before our current manager we had crappy manager who didn’t keep records of people getting paid, whether it was via Venmo, cash, or check. The owner doesn’t think this is a big deal as he’s engaged to the previous manager and she’s pregnant with his baby. We’re supposed to get paid every Friday, it’s currently Wednesday and I haven’t seen my last weeks paycheck. All of the employees here, along with our current manager are all frustrated because when asked the owner give us a crap answer as to where our checks are. The…

What should my next move be?

I work up front at a family practice clinic who uses a separate third-party as our billing side. Been here for about a year, no real major complaints to post up here but the front office had a meeting yesterday with someone from the billing side and basically they’re adding a shit ton of extra work on our end just so the clinic/doctors can make more money. They’re essentially making us collectors, like the people in the corporate office who work on the revenue cycle side. Not adding any pay for a pretty steep amount of work and the expectation is basically immediate, not like a “we’ll try it out for a few weeks and see how it flows.” More of a “this starts tomorrow.” I’ve already updated my resume and am looking for other things that pay as much or more. Am I wrong for immediately throwing my hands…

I left my ‘cushy government job’

I’ve spent the last year working for local government and recently resigned, and everyone I know IRL asks why I would leave a ‘cushy government job’. What was frustrating for me was how there was zero incentive to do well or stay employed long term. They had 2 policies specifically that made me quit: 1st, you could get a raise only once a year, which could be a maximum of 3% INCLUDING cost of living raise. I got the 3% and was treated like I was ungrateful for the fact that I’d be making less this year than last year due to cost of living increasing by like 8%. 2nd issue is that you could get a maximum of 6 raises over the course of your employment. This means that I would just not get any raises after working there 6 years, including cost of living. The only way to…

I am beyond infuriated at this point

Not sure this is the right place for this but I need help from people who have been on this situation. I have been working at Wendy's for well over three years and management treats me like a piece of garbage they scraped off the bottom of their shoe. I offer my time and effort and ask for more hours, especially when there's an inspection by the health department but they just either dodge me or lie to me. What infuriates me even more is I am seeing people who have been there less than half a year get at least twice as many hours as I do and are getting better incentives. The only thing is I have no job lined up because I have no job skills outside of fast food (I was a total fuck up in my twenties) and it Will be even more difficult because…

Just got our ‘potential bonus’ presentation for 2023. Feeling depressed.

Basically, if we (the whole company) gets a customer satisfaction score (service industry) of 9.5 out of 10 we ‘unlock’ a bonus of 5%. Somehow that’s tied to the growth of our customer base being greater than 4.5% net. We have cobbled together work around for antiquated systems that don’t give us visibility to anything and are failing at an escalating rate as we add more bandages. Makes it hard to answer a client with questions and even harder if we have to find something they need fixed. Looking dim. If all of that is true, and we grow more than 4.5%, then we ‘unlock’ the potential to receive another 2.5%, if we grow over 5% in total. I know there’s an additional stipulation in there, but can’t articulate it bc I don’t understand it. Grow >5% and the company gets

should I report my coworker to HR for showing me his NSFW photography?

I have a coworker I can’t stand. We have the same title, but he treats me like his assistant because I’m younger and female. I’ve talked to our manager about it, and he’s well aware of his ego issue and doesn’t seem to care. I was going to just suck it up and let it slide until this. Last week, he randomly showed me his “artwork”, which I would best describe as horror porn. It’s all photos he shot of naked women with photoshopped elements like vagina mouths or penis nipples to make them look like monsters. I was so uncomfortable during it and tried to just ignore it, but it’s been bothering me. I’m an artist and I’m not startled by nudity, but his work is clearly fetish expression. It’s super creepy that he would show that off to me at work, as I don’t look far off from…

Us (Americans) are weak. we let government/rich just fuck us over

You have people in France protesting and taking action about the increasing the retirement age just by 2 years and all i see and hear in the USA is bitching. Everyone is to comfortable working rest of their lives till they retire and are to old or to tired to enjoy rest of our lives. Alot of families, couples, single ppl are struggling while nothing is done unless it benefits the rich. Whats stopping us? I say, we all rinse and say enough is enough, we need to take action. If we dont, the government and the rich will just keep stepping on us b/c they know we will just fall in line and obey

I think I was sexually assaulted at work?

Not sure if this is the right place for this but last year at a Christmas work party, I (28M) was leaning at the bar and my managing director (45F) jokingly slapped my ass. I was a little shocked at the time but for some reason I made a quick joke and laughed it off. She did apologise as soon as I made my joke and she did seem genuinely embarrassed. Now usually, I would be firm with someone and tell them that it’s not appropriate to touch me but as this is a very small company and she is the managing director, I didn’t want to do or say anything that may jeopardise my employment. I don’t really have any issue with her in general, she’s actually always been very nice to me; the issue I have is I hate the fact I feel like someone has invaded my…

Not going to retire? Cool, I’m out.

I was told when I started my last job that I was in line to take over my one “supervisor's” job, with a $20-$30K pay bump. They said, “X is planning on retiring in two years.” 5 years later, I have saved the company over $300K in time and labor costs in my junior position, in addition to being part-time IT support, learning SCADA operations, overseeing 2 server migrations (after catastrophic failure of the first one), upgrading our maps to modern web-based GIS interfaces (instead of PDFs), and being the person people come to to get problems solved because they don't like dealing with X. Four of those years, I was gracious, despite the micromanagement and condescending tone while doing so when X decided to take an interesting in doing something other than browsing Facebook. This last year? Less so. X didn't want to get vaccinated because X “never got…
