As the the title says, they want a 6 hour shadowing prior to a possible job offer. I asked if this time would be paid and they are offended. Sorry, this seems like a lot of my time to devote and my time isn’t free.
I have been unemployed for 4 months after turning down a job in Alaska and deciding to quit being a teacher after 3 years of dealing with that bureaucratic sector. I finally secured a leadership role at a non profit and even though the pay is just okay (but better than a teaching salary), I was surprised to see in my offer letter that the company covers our entire healthcare package on their dime, and the vacation time is near equivalent to a teachers vacation. I hate that I work in a system in which free healthcare isn’t a standard, but I’m glad that my pathway is starting to look okay, at least for now.
Boss ignoring my two weeks notice
I put in my two weeks a week ago…and shes acting as if im still going to be here next week. Why do they have to make it harder than it is, i know people say don’t burn your bridges but she’s practically asking for it
Yeah me too
Job have me a full on computer setup when it wasn’t even in the job description. I assumed that since the job was remote, employees would either use their own computers or the company would send a company laptop. There was nothing in the job description stating that we would be given a large computer setup. My coworkers and I got to speak to each other and we all said the same thing. We reached out to our managers to ask if we’d be provided desks and shelves to place all the equipment. Or, at the least, a stipend to purchase a desk. We were told that they could not. They wouldn’t even send over an extension outlet to cover all the cords that are included. If a company is going to provide stuff like this, they should be able to provide the employees support as well. They keep stating…
I just found out that my base salary is being reduced by 30%. I figured it was coming, the company is not doing great. The amount was higher than I expected. But the way they told me is what stings. The accountant was dropping off a letter in my inbox and said, “Oh by the way, the paycheck this week will reflect the pay change and will be X amount less.” Then he walked out. The same courtesy as, “Hey it looks like rain and your car windows are down.” I foolishly thought that it would come with a better discussion than that.
