As a Team Leader / Foreman, I had been working hard to manage my team effectively and meet our targets. However, I found myself in a difficult situation when I needed to take a day off for overburn at work. I approached my manager and requested the day off, but also asked her to not shout or punish the workers who were under my responsibility while I was gone. Unfortunately, my manager did not respond positively to my request. She started shouting and accusing us of being lazy. She even threatened to punish and fire the workers who were under my supervision. This caused a lot of stress and anxiety among the workers, and two of them went on fake medical leave for two weeks. To my dismay, four more workers quit within a month of the incident. This created a serious staff shortage that made it difficult for me…
Rich people are more deserving because they work like 80 hours a week! Oh this guy is a super hard worker that works like 60 hours a week! *clap*clap*clap* First of all: Productivity falls off a cliff after 50+ hours. So someone working 60 hours is actually doing pretty much the same as someone doing 50 hours . Second: Rich people dont work 80 hours a week. They are “active” 80 hours a week. Meaning dinners – playing golf – useless meetings – private jet travel etc are all counted as “work”. Third: Working a lot of hours isnt some feat that should be celebrated. It just shows that there is too much work – more work than one person can actually handle and that the company/department is understaffed. And that the person is misused and exploited.
Manager and Hr threat over car parts
I'm a mechanic and my brother was our shops parts guy. He ordered a headlight bulb I requested and also ordered my mom a cooling fan, BUT he placed both on the same invoice to my name. They only accept cash for some reason. My mom and I gave my brother the cash to pay since he is the parts guy. Fast forward 3-4months and they fire my brother for unknown/unrelated stuff. Our HR personal and service manager both come up to me and tried to have me sign off on an agreement of paying the parts off…. We paid those parts already. Yet they're claiming we didn't. The agreement in which I DIDNT sign– states if I dont pay by due date they will take it out of my payroll. I didn't sign. They never took anything out of my check. A month/month and half goes by. Now that…
I'm honestly so done with my job. I'm a waitress and I deal with a lot more bullshit than I should since I didn't want to switch jobs. But I'm so completely done. I started at this particular job because I was promised to get training for bar. And that isn't going to happen, while the employee that just started last week is going to be pushed to be a bartender pretty much immediately. 4+ months of time wasted. Anyway, this new employee called me babe, though it sounded like baby. And I told him to not call me baby. He got pretty defensive and said it was “babe” not “baby” and he was just showing me some southern hospitality . I'm from the same state and I have NEVER heard a man I don't know refer to me as babe. This guy doesn't even know my name, I've seen…
Ok in 2013 I was earning around 2200/month. With this money I could afford a Mid Level appartment a car, groceries, a big vacation once a year and by the end of the month I still had like 300 left to save or spend as I saw fit. Now Im earning around 4000/month. I had to move to a low level appartment – drive the same car that I bought in 2013 – buy 20-30% less groceries, vaccations have been reduced to a small trip once a year and by the end of the month I have perhaps 100 bucks left. This doesnt seem right. If this continues I will be basically homeless even if I earn 6000/month in 10 years.
