I think this sets a new low for my company. We are certainly on the smaller side but our bonus was a $50 gift card to the company merch store (all clothes). Taxes and shipping are excluded and the cheapest item is an $85 golf shirt. It also expires in 6 months and can’t be combined with other gift cards. Tis the season!
Company Christmas card
We all got an empty Christmas card, no bonus. But the card wasn’t even a holiday card. It was a photograph the owning partner took while he explores the world… I’m talking at least $5,000 a trip. But don’t worry, all of the partners and seniors signed it….

Henry Ford vs Karl Marx ERB
My dad would do this, he would tell his boss “These are the weeks that I’ll be on vacation”, his boss said “I’ll see what time we have available, then he replied “I’m TELLING you when I’ll be gone, (not asking)”. I personally am going away for winter break, especially after the director said that Thanksgiving week and Christmas week aren’t obligatory. However, they switched up on us last minute to say that we need to be available at least 2 or 3 days of those weeks (not including the actual holiday). A coworker came in and said that they cannot blame us for making plans and not showing up because they said at first that we didn’t have to work on those weeks. So for Thanksgiving I worked, however I chose to go away from winter break. Again, they cannot blame me for already making plans, and I’m not…
Should I quit my job at 16?
I work 9 hours every weekend where I do 5 hours on Saturday and 4 hours on Sunday. I make around 300 pounds a month from this. On the other hand I made around 1k from youtube last month and It seems to be going up. I am not enjoying my job but i am enjoying youtube. It feels like my weekend is taken every week even though its only 9 hours as I find it difficult to be able to study and go out with friends. The reasons I haven't quit already is that it still makes me some money and I think it'll look bad on my CV whilst my parents have told me to stick it out longer. I have been working for around 3 months and I think I've given it a good shot and I've tried my hardest but it just doesn't seem to be…
I have an interview coming up and might be switching jobs. I'm currently the one who has been there the longest but was never promoted to the “senior' role. If/when I leave should say in the exit interview that they should promote the person down after 8m gone?
I dont even know what to say…
I work in a quite small field, and in an even smaller specialty in that field. For the past 5 years I’ve been “in charge” of my specialty area at my workplace, but in October of last year I told my boss I’d had enough and wanted to step down from that responsibility (it’s very much not worth it). After over 6 months of not being able to find anyone qualified for my position they offered to double the compensation I get (about 300$/month, so 600$/month now), until they found someone else. Now they’ve found someone willing to take over, however, she has about half of my experience and is going to need my help for a good while. My boss and I already have an agreement that I will be getting my double compensation for as long as I am training my coworker. I will get to keep my…
