So far i only have 2 employees since our company is private graphic designing firm and like we usually work remote at times. So I had beef a week ago on the fact my so called supervisor was misinforming me about transforming illustrator layers into PSD file instead of making it smart object so it could be edited. Moving on since that confrontation it had with him and his wife who is another employee of mine yes it's 2 vs 1. Lmao they been carrying a b*tch face and it's really annoying like bro are you 5 yr in kindergarten…? They won't update me on lunch time aswell since only one of them handles that, it's quite annoying ngl, I did talk to my boss he said to ignore and rest he will figure it out, since my supervisor gave me a neutral advice on how I should look for…
But how else can you get money?!
I walked out today.
I'm a temp for a HUGE pharmaceutical company. I've done this a few times. I knew I was going to be treated like shit. I still did it. The pay was great, but not worth the physical and mental hell I was going through. I'd spend many days crying at home, not wanting to go back. The temp company would make me feel horrible for calling in, my bosses would do the same. My body is showing actual physical signs of stress. I walked out to my car, texted my boss I was done. Now I feel worthless.

I am one more passive aggressive, gas lighting comment away from just walking out the door. That’s basically what the last 45% of the office did, but most of them at least submitted a week notice. The office has been churning at about 45% vacancy for 8 months now. I used to not get why people would be so mad and then quit with such short notice. I used to be that person who would try to reason with the boss and get my work done as quickly as possible. Never late. Never used leave. Was always positive. Now I’m just a burnt out, overworked shell of an employee compared to who I was 8 months ago. Boss: “why didn’t you get X done this week” Me: “bc it had 4,000 accounts on the report while you had me doing a, b, c, d, e…. This week” Boss: “I don’t…
I have been working as a tutor through this company as a contractor for about three months and the way we check in or clock in is by taking attendance. I have noticed sometimes it glitches and goes to different dates and I didn’t really think too much about it because I felt like it didn’t record due to the glitch. However, I put in my two weeks a while ago because I got offered a position and was actually looking to come back BASED on my SET schedule my job would be giving me once I complete my licensing and etc. I informed her that I would get back in touch to let her know any updates. However, I have two clients and one of them I would go to their homes 3x out of the week and 2x of out of the week for my other client. Therefore…
Are we living in a newspeak world?
I thought this would be a good place to start this conversation because of similar labor and market posts I've seen discussed on here in the past. I had a conversation tonight that made me think of Orwell's 1984. The conversation started after I was watching the talking heads on the news blabber on about inflation. It made me think a lot about that word, and how one word can really describe a lot and so little at the same time. Devaluation of the currency – inflation, corporate profitering – inflation, increased market prices – inflation, entropy in the system – inflation, increased demand/decreased supply – inflation inflation inflation. Inflation is not just one thing, it is many things in the English language. We can all sit here and explain what each one of those things means, but without a lengthy conversation (which will potentially lose people's attention) it is a difficult subject…
I’ve worked a couple different jobs throughout my early adult years. I eventually landed at an amazon warehouse. Didn’t really mind the work, but decided it wasn’t for me. But one thing I really did like was the schedule. 4 days a week, and 10 hour shifts. Why don’t more places offer a schedule like this? You’re able to still work 40 hours, and have an additional day off for the weekend. You’d think a schedule like this would be more desirable compared to the normal work week (5 days 8 Hours) and would even get more employees to stay working at a variety of employers.
