Came into work this morning, clocked in and waited to find out who i was going with to help out, outside of my regular department, it’s saturday work so usually its helping out the other department to catch up on work. Once one of the managers/supervisors arrive, they tell me im going with them and that they want me driving a tall box truck, i normally drive a wide tanker for my department and theres a significant height and length difference between the two, its nowhere near the same. I was not told ahead of time and even if i was, its a truck i don’t feel comfortable driving at all and that’s exactly what i told the supervisor very calmly and he immediately proceeded to tell me to go home if i wasn’t gonna drive the box truck. Anything i can do or is this just one of those…
Working isn’t the problem
I hear it all the time. “Your generation is lazy”, “Young people are so entitled, they don't even want to work anymore”, yadda yadda yadda This is not true. At all. We're humans, after all. Creation, innovation, industriousness, they're part of our biology. What isn't is the perverted system we somehow imposed on ourselves. I(24M) have an apprenticeship and worked my craft for two years after that. I love the work I did, and I was always dilligent and passionate about it. Did I get a raise? More responsibility? ANY form of recognition? Nothing. It has gotten to a point where I couldn't even afford to keep my job despite working full time, because the cost of living here is skyrocketing and I had to move to a cheaper area. Asking for a raise was met with the afforementioned comments regarding entitlement and laziness. I'm not entitled or audacious, I…
Am I Going Insane?
[UK] My manager presented me with documentation of a meeting we had and requested I sign it. The document included the statement “Fwoggy7 suffers from anxiety and week commencing 10th of October had been stressful for personal medical issues. These anxiety issues were disclosed prior to starting this role in job and were stated to be under control, however observations have shown that this is not the case.”. After reading the document I stated that I disagreed with this implication that my anxiety disorder is out of control and explained that it is as under control as it can be, also disclosing that I have completed a course of medication and talking therapy as proof of this. By stating my disagreement and explaining why I disagreed I had expected the statement to be removed, however management disagreed with me, accused me of lying about the reason for my sickness absence…
I hate those managers that have a favorite and always back them up. If you report the behavior of the toxic coworker to them, they would blame you. If you don't report and tell them you're leaving because of the toxic coworker, they would say they never knew about it. How are you to supposed to win the game?
Seriously, what happens to these people who truly believe we aren't all billionaires cause we're lazy when they reach their 60s? Do they realize at all it was a total sham? Do they reflect at all that they may possibly be working until their 80s?
I've seen many commenters on this subredit confused about the whole working class – owning class divide, so I'm gonna do my best to offer an introduction to the idea. Working class – these are the people whose main source of income is a salary, be they doctors, janitors or software engineers. You can own stock and get dividends from it, you can own a second or third house that you rent out, you can own your own small business, it doesn't matter. If you can't put food on the table without a job, you're working class. Owner class – these are the big investors, big landlords, corporate CEO's and so on. Sure, some of them technically have a job (managing proprieties or running a company), but if the majority of their income (let's say 70%) comes from rents or investments or company bonuses, then they are owning class. The…

My last job was literal hell
So basically I worked as a custodian for my school a few months before I graduated. I liked my job for the first few weeks of me doing it and was praised for my hard work. Then, they hired another person and low and behold, it was a dude that had touched me inappropriately. I should also include that no one took me seriously when it happened. Everyone believed it was basically my issue. So, when he started working, he wouldn't leave me alone. He never worked and basically just would not stop talking my ear off and acting a fool when I was literally in front of him sweating from working my ass off. He barely did anything. He literally wiped a table and left everything else for me to do. He literally pulled a book off the shelf and started annoying me with it while I worked the…
