Managing a business with an owner who seems to do everything possible to destroy any chance of success can be draining…so I adapted an old classic. Care is the mind killer.

Care is the mind killer The little death that brings total annihilation I will face my care. I will let ot pass through me. And when it is gone only I will remain.

Covid protection years later

Wanted to rant my family just caught it last week. The new restrictions apparently are asking for them to come in even if they test positive after 5 days. So now my mother and grandmother are being ordered to come into work soon. Both still coughing and sick. Granted grandma doesn't seem to care too much as she's been proving the memes right by going to restaurants herself. Doesn't matter if we ask her not to or offer to get it delivered. The delivery was slightly cold once so better go out herself after testing positive that morning This is why it still exists isn't it >.>

Company shorted my check and wants to make it up next pay period.

I’m a bartender, I make $4/hr + tips in TEXAS. Is there any law that I can cite that will make them pay me soon instead of my next paycheck. They shorted me some money on my check, my co-worker was shorted around $500 and they told him they will add it to next paycheck. I’m going to find out how much I’m short but I want to go in prepared.

The Tipping Creep is ruining it for tipped workers.

Here in the US there has been a bad taste in everyone’s mouth when it comes to tipping. Lately places that haven’t traditionally accepted tips are now flaunting the option to tip (Subway, Little Caesars, Home Depit etc). All this is doing is putting an even more bad taste in the mouths of consumers regarding tipping. Additionally this leaves less money available for consumers to tip the hard working tipped workers making $2.15/hour. That’s money that could go toward rent, beans and milk.

I was told I couldn’t call in to work today and I ended up in a car accident

Literal snowstorm outside, roads are icy, and I was told that I had to come in because one of the other employees walked 15 minutes to get to work. So I drove to work since it would've been a 45 minute walk, and ended up sliding on ice when I tried to slow down at 30km/h. The best part is, they didn't even need me today. I was supposed to help with shipping but there's no way the truck was coming in the snow.
