I've said it before and I'll say it again. Big or small, they'll tell you they are family. And they are. Like a Mafia family. They demand loyalty and obedience above your personal life. I’ve been at my company for several years and I never got promoted despite frequently asking for it, going above and beyond and sometimes helping out with external projects and covering for team members when they take time off work. Last week I had a very unfair performance evaluation despite all my hard work. It felt like a slap in the face and it was awakening. Yesterday my manager had the audacity to ask me to work on a project completely outside my scope of responsibilities, so I explained to them that I will only work on what I’ve normally worked on, then he tried to convince me that this project is related to my responsibilities, which was quite ridiculous considering I’ve never been involved in anything similar, especially one that belongs to a different department. I might offend some people, but large amount of public money is spent on buying luxury cars of insurance company owners in USA. In Universal Healthcare system, every penny is used to improve health of public so they contribute more to the economy. I've heard that people in USA are one hospital bill away from being broke. I'm from a third world country but I feel assured that I will never be spending my entire saving on medical bills as we have free healthcare for everyone.
