My bf and I have a small business with 10 employees. My shipper (remote worker) called me to give me a 7 day notice that he got a great deal on a flight to spend Christmas with his brother and that he would be unavailable until January 2nd. We are in the craft and jewelry supply industry so you could say it's a busy time of year . 20% of our sales are on the website, the rest are on another online sales channel. Without a thought we came up with a strategy to handle shipping for him and what to do about the website inventory that's stored at his location as customers placed orders. She still came in every day to ‘put out fires’ as she described it. Basically just annoying people. She will then use this to give out to people…
I don't want NOT to work tomorrow, in fact I have 0 problems working as long as it's from home, but I really don't want to go to the office tomorrow: the commute, the atmosphere, you know the drill. What are some excellent excuses to tell your boss you'll have to “work from home today”? NB: no sickness excuses if possible. Thanks a lot.
