Socialism for me, Capitalism for thee
Employer clocking employees out (Texas)
At a company my friend works for they have started clocking people out when they see them on the cameras ‘not working’. For example my friend sat down for a few mins when work was slow, were then called by the employer and told they had been clocked out since they could see them sitting there on the camera. (Apparently they did inform some employees they would be doing this beforehand.) My question: is this legal? It seems borderline not but I wonder since they did inform them?
Has anyone ever lied on a résumé to meet a jobs weird qualifications? Like example, needing experience with a very niche program? I am wanting to apply for a job that I am over qualified for, but on the job listing it says they prefer someone with knowledge of a certain state program, one that I can simply research and learn all I need about it without having to have worked with that program. Not trying to lie about education, or certifications, just obscure nitpicky knowledge.
Anyone know something to help?
My job is seasonal about 9 months but they require me to take 13 weeks off before calling me back. Used to be I could get by on unemployment as that was 26 weeks and would cover me well till I started again. That was usually 14-16 weeks. Well Kentucky cut theirs back to only 12. Opposition was from both urban and rural which surprised me. But the fact is the cost vs payout on many jobs isn't there. Drive like 30 miles a day for 9 an hour. It's a pittance and you hardly have anything after fuel and taxes. So I'm looking for remote work or someone who can guide me on getting this challenged. A compromise of 24 weeks was given but oh no, can't have that. “No one wants to work” even though studies showed TIME AND AGAIN that the extra pandemic money did not cause…
Hi, all! I’m a 1099 contact worker. I have had direct deposit with this employer for the entire time I have worked there (18 months +). Never had a problem. I changed my direct deposit info at the beginning of December ands haven’t revived a payment since. For reference, this is 3 paychecks. Now the little shut heel is telling me they “cannot run payroll “ because changing my direct deposit info reset my account and they absolutely must have a W4 before paying me. Does this sound legit? They won’t respond to messages.
Anti-work guide?
I know we all have our own paths but… does anyone have a general guide of an alternative way of living step by step tips of how to live work free? Thanks ️
