I am absolutely furious with my boss's decision to take away our well-deserved bonuses (25-80$) and instead use the money for a company pizza party. Are you kidding me? Our hard work and dedication mean nothing to him? We bust our asses every day and this is how we're rewarded? With a damn pizza party? I can't believe he would do something so disrespectful and dismissive of our contributions to the company. It's a slap in the face and a complete betrayal of trust. I refuse to stand for this kind of treatment and disrespect. I'll be looking for a new job where my efforts are properly recognized and rewarded. This company culture is toxic and I want no part of it.
tl;dr: I received a job offer for a decent position and put in my two weeks at my current spot . They then ghosted me for two weeks. I emailed twice within seven days, called the manager's cell two days later and left a voicemail, and got radio silence. I gave up and went back to my current job and asked if I could stay. Just last night I received an email with a slew of excuses and a confirmed start date. For reference, this is a small but notable restaurant group with multiple managers and I feel they should have at least acknowledged my acceptance earlier rather than ghosting, which left a bad taste in my mouth. I need some advice on what to do! First I was going to make this a rant because I still hadn't heard from them but they ended up reaching out to me…
Daycares vs Nannies: A Small Insight
I'm in the mood to rant, so here I go again. So right now, I've seen many more people asking for nannies, babysitters or just general house helpers instead of taking their kids to daycares. To be honest, I'm not surprised, and I think that in the next year, there is going to be a daycare collapse. Not sure if that is the right word but I think something has to change because working at daycares/nurseries is a nightmare these days. So in the past two years, I've worked at six different nurseries. Out of all of them, there is only one I would consider going back to. Let's start off with the pay. At least of these places try to pay under $15 which is absolute bullshit. Even if someone isn't CPR certified or doesn't have a degree, they need to be paid more. Working with children is exhausting.…
Stuck in a dead end job search
I (F23) have worked in customer service my whole life. I enjoy helping people, and typically like the work. Unfortunately, I've run into the position most customer service reps hit: no one pays enough. I wasnt able to finish college, and im in no position to go back. I've been a supervisor in a call center for 2 years, and I only make 13$ an hour. I'm sick of being overworked and underpaid. Im willing to work outside of customer service, but I dont even know where I would start. What do I do?
A DL dropped dead. No one blinked.
In 2021, after working the same position about a year, I found an open lateral transfer requisition within my company related to my Master’s Degree which I took. The job was a good learning experience but not what I wanted to do forever so after doing this for two years I wanted to go back to my old group just because I liked the work better. They had an open req that would land me a promotion that I qualified for at the same time. I applied and immediately got an interview. During the interview, the interview panel who I knew all personally ripped me to shreds. I can honestly say I’ve never had a worse interview. I was so excited for the job because I knew the team and we worked well together. They asked me if I only applied because I wanted to get more money and promotion,…
So my friend/old coworker from a huge retail chain finally quit after 15 years. She had a breakdown after years of emotional and psychological abuse from working there (trust me i worked and got away from there too). There was a misunderstand in here holiday schedule. They are closed every Christmas but the scheduling system scheduled her to work one of her Set days off. She never checks the scheduling system. She has had the same schedule for 15 Years. And i know for fact full time employees get 3 days off during a holiday week. So they suspended her for missing her shift (that she's had the same days of the week off her entire work history). During her suspension she calls me and she lets it all out. I encourage her to do what makes her happy. And stop giving your whole life to this selfish corporation. So…
