What does this sub think of Nikki Haley?
I learned my company will be pairing up with a nonprofit to do some of our work. When I asked about the company I was told it was for limited work and the nonprofit had a community outreach aspect to it. Looked into the company and it looks like this nonprofit is set up to help autistic adults. I find this controversial because I first was told about this when I asked about moving up/skills I could work on. Instead of being given metrics I was told this so it felt like my company was undermining my work. Also, since it's a nonprofit, I'm worried they are taking advantage of this program – this is work I get paid to do. This was my thought process but how would you take it? what would you do?
Sick leave final payout
Am I being screwed out the 62.5 hours of sick leave? I thought I was entitled to that for my final check.
this is just from Monday. both inboxes are my responsibility. no one in my department has offered to help – they actually took two people off of this and gave me someone i have to retrain in order to assist me. last night, my entire department left early for happy hour and i remained at the office to try and make a dent in these emails. for every 10 i knock out – 15 more come in. i have handled over 200 inquiries in a week about our situation (which legally i cannot share what happened). there's still almost 300 more to go. we all talk about being a “team” and yet – this has been the most isolating experience i've ever had to deal with. i'm angry they went to happy hour while i'm struggling. i'm angry that when i say i'm overwhelmed they just say “well we…
Call off guilt.
Just needed a place to vent. I am having a rough morning with my IBS so I decided to ask for the day off (I do data entry). It was responded with “you’re still within your 90 days, be careful.” I’m 60 days into the 90 day probationary period. I got sick once (flu) and was late another time which I stayed in extra to make up. My boss likes to remind me that I have “bad marks now.” Well, I guess this would make it bad mark #3. So now I’m just at home with cramps, worrying about getting fired.
Negotiation Question
I hope this is the right spot for this (if not downvote, and I will delete). My company is hiring and desperate to keep people as we are being poached. I recently got a call for an opportunity, but I want to stay. I want to stay but I want to make what my peer (same title and responsibilities) makes. He's a boomer, so I wanted suggestions on how to approach this topic (if he was a millennial like me I'd just ask). I'm open to ideas! TL;DR – Need to ask boomer peer his salary for comparison.
