We MUST Hold Corporations Accountable
A colleague was dying of cancer
She used up all her vacation days and sent out a heart-breaking note to all her contacts asking us if we’d consider donating some of our PTO to her, since she was living paycheck-to-paycheck and couldn’t lose this job because of the health insurance. I was allowed to donate vacation time but not the weeks of sick time I had accrued. She died a few months later, and I still think about the inhumanity of this system and society.
Ranked low on year end review
With no raise. And I absolutely do not agree. My boss told me the reason was that when I got my promotion last year it means that I’m on the bench for a management position. So with that said, I need to be going above and beyond regularly. I don’t even want to be in management. He told me that while last year I did the job, I got things done, it was not to my level. Meaning my pay grade level, and needing to “do more” than the job. Not to mention he never had a single conversation with me about any of this until the end of the year, giving me zero time to correct the “problem”. I feel stuck and hopeless, and unsure what or where I could even go to get the same type of pay. But being treated this way really is not sitting right…
If we all collectively agreed that Amazon is worth 2$ then the stock crashes and people lose their jobs and bezos goes homeless
