We all know about the nepotism factor…. Which are the children who try to do good.. fair. My question is why are there no results… if Beyoncé and Jay-z could have solved any everyday issue like hunger (in the U.S.) why haven’t they? Rihanna did a Super Bowl half time on wired platforms for what… she’s a pregnant millionaire… all celebrities donate to non profits…. Or their own org….they literally recycle our money into their accounts and we say when’s the next concert..
I originally considered just saying “No” but I don't have the energy for that fight right now and don't want to test the patience of my coworkers while I'm still relatively new to the company. As others have said here before, insisting on webcams is a weird & gross invasion of privacy and feels like the start of a slippery slope to your manager claiming your space and taking over your personal life again. So, without having to install any 3rd-party software, does anyone know how I could corrupt my webcam signal without physically damaging the laptop? I'm a fullstack dev and fairly capable of implementing some janky solution, I just need someone to point me in the right direction. Worst case some people give me some ideas and I release a public github for a program similar to Mouse Jiggler, so anyone who insists on webcams gets their corneas…
The Interview That Wasn’t??
This happened about a year and a half ago, but I never knew where to share this story. I have been teaching music lessons privately for nearly a decade at that point, and I do that on my own time as a self-employed person, but I wanted something to supplement income on my off days. On my resume, it is clear that I have private teaching experience. Applied through Indeed for a secretary position at a tutoring center. The director calls me. She says she's very intereste in my teaching experience. I told her “well, I do have teaching experience, but not in math and reading” (which is what this tutoring center specializes in. I have never taught a child how to read and I am very bad at math, I am not qualified for this position, that's why I applied for the secretary job. She says “Oh, well teaching…
Am I Getting Pimped By My Employer?
I work in jewelry sales, (a purple branded jewelry company based out of California, but now has stores in AZ, NM, and TX) and we sell high ticket (ordinary at best) jewelry. Anywhere from $200 – $15,000 jewelry pieces. During my interview, they promised that I could make a lot of money and move up in the company, but now that Ive worked there for a few weeks, I see that’s a lie. I have $3000 in sales so far in 2 weeks, and my commission is only $15. I sold a $1000 ring yesterday and only made $5 from it. This is the catch, I only make the commission if the company hits their monthly goal. If they don’t, we don’t make any commission. Not to mention we only make $14 an hour. We have to sell jewelry, be in the store an hour before it opens and 30…
Advice on telling my manager I quit?
Hey yall, so I have a small history of posting here (check those out if you want extra context) but recently I went from enjoying my managers recognition, to needing a promotion, because our shift lead quit during a crazy shift, to now I’m starting a new job soon (for a shift manager at a different place with much better pay) and even though I love my managers, (exception for one) I need this job and I would like to give some warning because I have a friend still working there Now I don’t believe you need to give a 2 week notice, im starting my new job asap because the pay will help pay rent and bills much easier, so I’m doing that. But how do I let my manager know I’m quitting soon in a easy way? Or should I let her know at all? They’re super understaffed,…
This is more of a rant I guess so bear with me. I've been at my job for almost six months now and have pretty much dreaded going in basically every single day since about month two. I'm seriously considering putting in my two weeks next week after I get back from my leave. It feels like every time I think I've got the job down and that I'm improving, suddenly I get told I am doing something completely wrong. I understand I'm still in the learning phase but being given mixed information often and by different people really messes up my structure or makes me doubt making sound decisions on my own. And there have been times where my mistake bites me in the butt, and the feedback that's given to me about my mistake is basically, “It should have been common sense to do it this way.”…
The powers that be will give us what we want or the working population will die, albeit slowly. If we die, who will serve their tendies? They rely on our work every single day. Odds are, our demands would be met within the hour and none of this, “they won’t allow us to strike,” nonsense.
i just started this job (im a server) the beginning of this year and the management is so ass. they forgot to pay me for training first off. that was 40 hours of training :// and now i find out they deducted money from my pay if im late?? no one told me this. i was 1 min late one day and lost 20% of my tips… another day i was late by 3 mins and lost 50% of my tips. That’s just fucking crazy to me. p sure this shits illegal. planning on finding a diff job. also will be complaining about the deduction before i leave bc this aint right and i want the money i fucking worked for.
