Hello, I live in California and just started a new job making $30 an hour. I received my first paycheck and I’m not joking, they deducted $571 dollars for two weeks and 80 hours. I’ve worked hard for this money and am saddened that I’m being taxed so much. I am single, no kids and a full time student. Also, my healthcare cost per paycheck is about $10 for vision and dental. What can I do to fix this?
I think I’m on my way out after today
So I work at a garage and today I found out that money has been not adding up according to the number of basic services I'm doing during my shift.it's consistently 28.50 or lower they didn't tell me for two weeks and today asked me to account for it I told them when I've done my end of shift stuff all my numbers added up etc and stood behind that. I'm just frustrated there are telling me after two weeks and not the first day they noticed we have no manager and the owners live states away so I'm thinking something got lost in translation between there records and the stores. I have an interview at another garage tommorow because I'm frankly afraid I'm gonna get fired over it so
Zero Salary
I need to vent because I'm still triggered. Last Friday, my direct report told me she is missing 3.07 of accrued hours of pto. She had 18.45 hours and needs 3.07 added. I have her log into the HRIS system and show me the discrepancy. I validate she's missing the hours and advise her to reach out to payroll to have this corrected. I message her today to see if she got a response. We hop on a Slack huddle and she shows me the email from Payroll which is that she actually has 13.93 hours not 18.45 hours, gives her an excel sheet that is manually tracked and corrects her time in the system. I'm like, what? How do we go from 18.45 to 13.93 when we're asking about 3.07 that wasn't accrued. I have her forward the spreadsheet to me and she shares her screen so we can…
Isn’t this the truth!
It’s coming together!
manager needs help
Hey my people. Feel free to tear me a new one (roast am I the a hole) my partner is an administrative assistant or a cheap manager. She was work from home till about 3 months ago. Since she has had to “be in office”. She got passed over twice for her “AA” role and surprise she got promoted when she applied for the same role in a different department. She trained both of the people promoted to her current roll but only got it after the first quit outright and the second had a hidden pregnancy (good for the new hire hiding the baby, I'd tell my love to do the same) now she's held the roll for 8+months and is killing it. She's gotten 3 raises and I'm so proud. But she's been working 50-60 hour weeks for 18 months to prove her legitimacy. She works in medical…
