I'm a working class person. I didn't finish high school but eventually got my GED. I've worked mainly construction and factory jobs. I was thinking about just using that ChatBotAI to construct a resume because Ive mainly worked a mix of working for myself and for a company. I'm just tired of making up excuses for taking long periods of time off. My long periods of time off have been related to mental health and substance abuse reasons. I just was wondering if anyone else has tried or has been thinking of doing this. This might not fit the sub but Im just tired of it all. Thank you for all and any input.
Are Antiwork members part of organized religions or do many see inequality/Conditioning lies similar to bosses at jobs? I was not sure if religious deconstruction was a similar trait seen in workers who are seeing all the bull that employers and area of society puts on them. I spent much time reading scholars & archeologists of some major world religions and they have a radically different take on what actually happened compared to what the religion espouses about itself. It definitely had a deep impact in how I look at things and it seems to really line up with the same BS people put on workers to make them live a certain way and to just accept that this is how things are….
I’ve been at my job 4 years now and it has plummeted in the past year. I have a new boss as my original one is retiring and she has no manager experience – the one time I did try to discuss things with her and give her feedback she took it personally and told me she felt like I was attacking her and her perfectly laid out plans. This was later held against me, and I know for a fact that she has stopped me from being promoted due to her feeling towards me which is expressed as “we just can’t lose you at this position, so we aren’t going to let you grow”. On top of this, she has hired a new person that has become her little pet. This coworker gets special treatment and is routinely called out and praised when she lacks the experience or knowledge…
Right now I am pretty free to choose how I do my job. Also I basically come and go as I wish. I am afraid to lose these advantages with a new boss. Any advice?
Long story short, my job has been nothing but red flags & empty promises. In general I feel like an undervalued & disgruntled employee to which they don’t seem to care. I could go on, but i won’t. For those who have been in my position, would you put in your final notice to leave or get fired? I live in a state where you can still collect unemployment after pointing out & I am a welder by trade, not too worried about not finding another job.

1-800-PetMeds
Just heard word my company was acquired by PetMeds. Anyone here work there that can provide any insights on how bad (if it is at all) there? TIA!
Title pretty much says it all. I wanted to work from home for the next couple of days to take care of my mom in the hospital (she’s okay right now just needs someone to be with her before and after surgery) but my manager says I should take my sick days off, basically using up all of my balance to do this. On top of that, my manager says “wfh days still have the same expectations as in office days, so if you’re taking care of her, that might interfere” like obviously I know that wfh days have the same productivity expectations as in office days, I think she’s just talking down to me at this point. But I said ok, I’ll take off sick days because I’m going along with it. I feel like this is an unreasonable demand though. Should I have just lied and made something…
I started this job within the last few months and, at first, the scheduling app I had did not even show what time we were supposed to be off. I asked the manager about it but he said he didn’t know. I asked the coworker training me and she said you have to go to another website to view our out times. Cut to a couple months in the job, I ask why I’m always scheduled at the VERY LEAST a couple hours less than what they’re expecting me to say. My manager straight up said, “yeah they actually use that main scheduling website because they don’t want y’all to know the out times”. Furthermore, he explained that, “out times are arbitrary”. I like the job alright but there is so much shit talking if you cannot stay every single day and I am tired of it. I am in…
