How do I escape the rat race?
I’ve worked enough to see the life I could live. Now how do I escape that? I’m not wasting away, working 40+ hours a week. I want to have freedom, both financially and physically. I just don’t know how yet.
How my coworker talks to me all the time
i was running a small quiet cafe that had two other staff members. one gave their two weeks and the boss never replaced them, about a month later the second person gave their two weeks and were also not replaced. the boss said he’d come in and work with me until he finds a replacement. he never showed up so i worked a whole shift alone. i asked him who was working with me tomorrow and he said “no one” i quit that night and the cafe has been closed ever since, it has been almost 1 year now. i’m still going through a very lengthy legal battle of getting my money owed, he’s trying to argue i wasn’t the manager. hard to do when your cafe can’t open without me lol
Y’all proud or what?!
So I worked for a local business where I’d frequently order food for my team, or a bunch of us (at least 6 people) would decide to order from a certain restaurant… At first, we were using Doordash. I noticed the prices were inflated on some of the app menus, versus the actual in-house restaurant prices, but figured, “yeah, that’s just a cost of doing business.” I also noticed, that maybe 2 out of 3 times, we were getting the same dasher: “Jen.” One day, I asked Jen, “Hey, you deliver here at least 3-4 times per week, that I know of… Can I ask if you’d be interested in a sort of proposition? I’ll either order ahead from the restaurant, or text you our order, and you go pick it up for us… it would save us $30-40 in inflated prices and fees, and in turn, we would pay…
