I’ve been working at this location for almost 2 years. I’ve been given praise and bonuses in my first year there, I even got taken on a work trip. I finally felt like I belonged and was valued for my work. Around the holidays I had my hours cut and given to the one other person who can do my job, they get paid much less than me. Then Christmas rolls around, and I basically got a jelly of the month club bonus instead of money I was depending on. I recently requested that I have Sundays off so I can spend time with my family. Boss took it upon herself to announce to the whole room that I make more money than anyone there, so it wouldn’t be fair for me to have Sundays. Then proceeded to tell the manager she couldn’t have one Saturday off every two months…

I've been applying for a bunch of jobs and they all ask why do you want this job. I know they want to have a deep answer like growth opportunities or whatever, but I just want to make money. It shouldn't matter why you want the job as long as you are qualified to do it.

Teachers. The kids they teach often bring illness to the classroom, exposing fellow students and teachers. Teachers get sick from those exposures, burn all of their PTO days, and then get penalized with a reduced paycheck after their PTO is gone. My spouse has been teaching for more than 20 years, and this year because of the flu, stomach bugs, respiratory illnesses, and more, she's out of PTO. For the rest of the year. Oh, and she's home sick today. Her already modest paycheck will become even more so. Because of the work she chooses to do, her passion. When it's your work site that is causing your illness, why should you have to burn PTO?

My workplace is just me and the managers and one janitor. My manager told me they would be hiring at the first of the year. She mentioned offhand yesterday about how they’ve had ads up for weeks and haven’t gotten barely any resumes. Not a single interview has been done here. I was trying to google my office’s address for a friend and came across one of the job ads, a search result from a job site. They’re offering $14-15 an hour! For 55+ hours per week, in a very demanding field. The headquarters is in California, that’s fuckin minimum wage! This is not an entry level minimum wage job! I know the office is in a different state but nobody wants to work that kind of job for $14/hour. That’s poverty level. Not to mention the health insurance that comes out of it, and any other deductions you choose.…

So I’ve been at this job since October . Today my Boss commented on how my uniform was dirty (had ink all over it and my job involves a pen and marker on hand at all times pen my uniform is pure white so it’s very easy to get dirty ) . He said I should be washing my Uniform (which is just white overalls) every 2-3 nights . I told him my mum won’t allow laundry to be done that frequently and will get very frustrated before he told me ‘You get paid to work here and you need to look nicely presented ‘ Also just wanna add a few things here .
