idk if this is the place for this but….
TRACKING tools are meant for the team DOING THE WORK to help them keep track of what they're doing. A tool optimized for TRACKING may be SUBOPTIMAL for REPORTING. The tool doesn't need to be changed. Managers just need to accept that reporting metrics DON'T NEED THE EXTRA DETAIL, you're just trying to justify your stupid job by having more graphs and charts! Let the people doing the work track in the most efficient way, all you need is inputs and outputs, if those are being met why the fuck do you care about all the micro details? FUCK
Im being forced to do 2 peoples work
Halp! So I work retail. Right now the owner is “punishing” a coworker by cutting his hours because he doesnt know how to answer questions basically. The owner asks him to do something he responds “yeah when I get a chance” the owner asks why something isnt done my coworker offers excuses. We get paid ok. Not great but ok. I started at $22 in 2 months it went to $23.50 I am their hardest worker which is generally what I do at any job. Lift this safe yes sir no problem sir build this bbq yes sir no problem sir you get the idea. Well now that my coworker is getting punished for basically being a moron I have to do all his work. Oh and recently another coworker has been slacking so I am expected to do 3 peoples work. How do I get this to stop? My…
Looking for something unrelated and I ended up on the page for this mouse jiggler. The fact that more than 2,400 people bothered to give it positive reviews is in a way depressing, in that it shows how widespread the surveillance is of people who work from home. But it's much more inspiring to see how many people are not willing to put up with that shit. Anyway, I enjoyed reading a few of them; maybe you will too. Solidarity!
I joined a startup about 9 months ago, with a few ex-colleagues from a company where paternity leave was 8 weeks. Two months later, my wife is pregnant, and in Sept of 2022 I inquire about the leave. I was assured it was being drafted. Fast forward to last week, and I inquire again (for 5th-6th time), and I was told the business seeks to be generous and I'll be getting two weeks paid. This feels like a slap in the face. Am I overreacting?

My wife just got this from her employer.
Instead of paying a living wage we can throw contests at them! https://preview.redd.it/8wfrf65ca7ha1.png?width=364&format=png&auto=webp&v=enabled&s=6f67c610a67162479b130fe45f65a5913f510520
I'm 22 years old , and have been working on and off for about 4 years now. I will be honest I'm not the type of person who likes working hard, unless the work really interest me. I do see myself as a good worker with a pleasing personality. But, Im tired. I don't want to work anymore for 10$ an hour. I want to make money, real money. I want to feel the fruits of my work to be all mine, or at-least most of them. This is not the situation right now. I work at a famous book store in my country. Biggest franchise probably. I have to serve idiots everyday, why tho? Why be in the lowest place in the food chain while you can be better? Why are the other workers just accept this reality? Am I crazy or am I the only one who sees…
I've been working a mandatory six days a week since the start of the new year, as well as mandatory overtime (ten hours a day) each day, with the exception of Saturday which is an eight hour shift. Normally I work second shift, which is 2:00 PM – 12:30 AM due to the mandatory overtime. Last night before I left to go home my production manager told me that I needed to come in Saturday and come in on first shift. First shift is 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM without overtime since it would be on a Saturday. That would mean Friday I have to work to 12:30 AM, get home at around 1:00 AM and be up by 5:00 AM to get ready for work again…I'm debating not going in at all. We have had these mandatory overtime shifts and weekend shifts due to the company being behind in…
