Advice needed about a job opportunity
I've been unemployed for about a month now. Havent been looking for job because my bills are taken care of without me working. My partner told me that i could stay home And tend to the house if i want, he doesn't care. Well i was checking my email and i found an email where a recruiter was reaching out to me about a job opportunity to be a instructor at a local professional institute. It's a place where people get continuing education hours and such for a particular field. I completed the first interview out of curiosity and she got straight to the point. 60-70k for salary, working 4 days a week in office sf the 5th day at home, 8 paid holidays, health insurance, etc. The only hang up for me is the institute is 2 hours from my residence and i have no interest in moving. Is…
unpaid internship
Unpaid internship 3 months what do you guys think about this Edit- My friend is certified xyz and that certification exam cost almost $250
I was laid off from my engineering job six months ago and have been interviewing a lot with basically no offerers. Things were very slow around the holidays. I’ve had money saved up so being out of work didn’t hurt me financially. However I’d like more stability in my long term. I received an offer from a job today as a validation engineer. I’ve done this kind of work before. They offered me $65,000 in the offer letter. But.. I distinctly recall saying I’d only go as low as $80,000 in the interview. That was the top end of their budget as I recall. Ohio average for this role is $82,000 and I’ve got solid experience. I think turning down the job would be a mistake and I can use it to bridge the gap until I get better pay somewhere else. However I won’t accept that low of an…
Finding jobs as a college grad
So it’s been a little over a year after I’ve graduated college. I was super stressed during college and didn’t think much of the future, I wanted to just get my degree over with and then find a job after a breather. That’s what I did, took a quick breather during Christmas and new years, then went out on my job search. I was a business major so I was looking for various jobs in finance, sales, energy, gaming industry, etc. (all over the place). I went to a very well regarded school, graduated with a 3.4 and have some decent experience under my resume but never worked in an office (because I could never get accepted for an office internship). I made some immature mistakes when I was younger and early college. Nothing too crazy but I feel like some of that is lingering on me. Got arrested freshman…
I've been working for 3 weeks. I'm 17. I was supposed to get paid last week and I'm really doubtful I'm gonna get paid this week. I was supposed to receive a paycard. (I'm setting up direct deposit soon) I have not received it. what do I do if I don't get paid again
I'm a web developer in Latin America. I work for an international marketing company that has branches all around the world. Coworkers in Miami make 8 times my wage and can afford rent + necessities comfortably while I can't even rent a studio apartment at my city working a full time skilled job (I know every job requires skill but you get my point). They, even while earning that much money, are also profitable to the company, so I can only imagine how much the corporate leech from us Latin Americans. They do the exact same job alongside our branch, and even less most of the time, this makes me angry to no end and I am desperately trying to find a new job that at least pays me a little more so I can move out of my parents' house. I envy first-worlders a lot, how easy some of…
