I’ve been working in Sales & Marketing for almost 2 years at this company that that literally stresses me out beyond words. My boss (the CEO) is really bad about paying me on time to the point it causes me to go overdraft (like today). The CEO has never not paid me, but she’ll heavily delay it and even dodge me, by not showing up to the office because of course I’m going to ask about it. I am constantly in search for a new job, but there’s always something whether it be the pay, the hours, or the distance (or i just don’t get the job) – I just moved about 4 months ago to be closer to this job to save on gas & my time and this job isn’t located in a central area at all and now I live on a not so central area too.…
About 6 months ago, I was let go from a previous company due to combatting for COVID leave. This employer is notorious for pettiness and terrible work culture, so I took unemployment for awhile and took my time to survey the market and find a solid next job. Since this time, I’ve had 40+ first round interviews, several of which passed on to the final round. I would initially be excited for the pending opportunities, only to be disheartened by the ghosting that would happen from literally every final interview despite feeling that the final had gone well. Many of these opportunities were sourced from recruiters I found in LinkedIn and had built rapport with. Strangely during this duration, I’ve noticed an increasing number of Indian recruiters (who I had not submitted my resume/email/phone # to) reaching out via phone call and email for roles that were unfamiliar to me.…
With less demand I would think so but I'm not going to count on it. Opinions?
So just to make it quick: a company I worked for terminated an employee for being late to work and leaving work early. It is the main and only reason listed as the reason for termination on the paperwork they received. However, the times they left early were approved beforehand with their direct supervisor. Of the 8 times they left early, about half of the time they were attending mental health therapy; and the other half are because a coworker had to take them home due to them not having a running vehicle (again, also approved by direct supervisor ahead of time). They also stated it was due to being late in the morning. The first date counted was the first date of hire, even though the supervisor TOLD them to show up at that specific time, and it was still counted against them. Is this legal for a company…
The first time I got reprimanded for eating at my desk (which everyone does). Ok whatever. Second time for a supposed dress code infraction (wearing leggings with a long tunic), even though we don’t have a written dress code to follow. Sure, I won’t wear leggings, but jeans are allowed? I’ll wear those. Today it was because my work posted a job in the same department as me (emailed to my work email) just one step up from my position. Same manager and everything. And I sent my resume in FROM MY WORK EMAIL THAT THE JOB POSTING WAS SENT TO. HR told me it was highly in appropriate and they’re considering pulling my application because of it. Because I applied for a job in the same company from my company email rather than my personal. Fuck this. I am done. EDIT: this is a government job, by the way.
Dentist told me she can't find anybdy to work at the front desk as well as dental assistants. A manager at a bar told me nobody wants to work. If so many people are not working how are they getting by?
