When I was 21/22 I transferred to another one of our restaurants locations. GM hated me because I was from the owners first store “the baby store” and worked better than the rest due to being used to high volume. We had a busser who was great at work and with the customers. One night, after closing, he came up to me when I was getting in my car. He was going on about how I’m a great worker and how he is lonely because his whole family is in another country. He then gives me a hug goodbye and then forces his head to try to kiss me. The next day I spoke with a shift manager about it and how I was weirded out. She reported it to the GM without me knowing. I found a job doing what I love (Electrical work) I was pretty decent at it. And was loving every minute of it to the point where I would come in on my days off, if it were needed. I pushed myself really hard to learn how to to learn PLC and boolean. I started working on tons of projects and got to do all kinds of really cool things with robots. And then? I asked for an accommodation because I have narcolepsy. I often would fall asleep if somebody were talking to me or just fade away sometimes at my desk if I wasn't working on anything exciting. one of my co-workers told me that I should get a sleep study done. I hate how Europeans ask this dumbass question. If we could make things better we would. I see this question on this sub almost daily. Maybe if Europeans had more culture they’d understand everyone can’t handle things exactly how they handle things in their small little culture.

On Monday, they reached out to me on LinkedIn with a really promising message about having a 15 minute phone conversation about an open position. They supplied the job posting as well and it honestly feels like a perfect fit. I replied at the end of my workday when I saw it (probably 4-5 hours after they messaged) expressing my interest and thanked them for reaching out. I also gave two times I would be available (which would have been today) and I'm wondering if that was presumptuous? I also mentioned that I was looking forward to the call and asked if I could share any documents prior. I haven't heard back and I'm not sure if I should message them again as I'm not sure if they're still considering me. So, my job is hemorrhaging people. I stay because they completely work around my school schedule. They scheduled me every other week for OT without saying shit to me. 52 hour week. I work 12 hour shifts. Well, I guess I will return the favor and call off. They can find someone last minute to do my job at the clinic. If they don’t find someone they can close. And if I feel like it I will use my PTO to cover it. They were scheduled hours after all. Dumbasses.

I run a small company in the medical field, so I'm owner but also manager. I could work alone with no admin support and make good money but I want to be with a team so I've hired people and staff to support them. And I can't get anyone to actually work a sustainable amount of hours. I'm not talking about 30 or even 40. I'm talking about 10 a week. We pay the highest in the area ($78-90 an hour usually, based on insurance, we don't set it). We provide free training in what they want. We advertise and schedule for them. We've given people a break with covid and even given them stipends or advances to help. They don't have mandatory schedules, they can take off what days they want. I just ask that they bill enough to cover expenses, and I give them months to get there.…
