Let’s talk about Funeral Directors
Perhaps this is more of a rant than anything I’m a funeral director and have been for the last two years, went to college, found a degree that should garner a stable enough living. Or so I thought The funeral service industry is a fucking joke. Period. What does it entail? Well for starters you work egregiously long and hard days and most nights, and usually you’re out into all hours of the night, on demand 24/7 if you’re lucky you might get a day off every now and again Not only that but you’re exposed to a whole beautiful variety of toxic, carcinogenic chemicals that will inevitably damage your body as the years go by, not to mention the exposure to extremely harmful bacteria, and diseases, from everything from Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease, to a staph infection, with no more than a plastic apron and latex gloves to shield yourself. Teacher Leaving Teaching
Hello everyone, I am new to this subreddit but have been looking for advice on my situation. I graduated with my teaching degree almost 4 years ago and have taught for 2 years in an under funded almost private school for students who many of them had been kicked out of the public schools in the area. I struggled for those 2 years due to having no curriculum, little support, and personal issues. I learned that I had depression and eventually was prescribed medication for it. During this time I also had to teach virtually for an entire year causing intense back pain. I thought my problem with teaching was due to the school I was working for so to resolve that I moved closer to my family and got a new job in a public school. Both of my paychecks for the month of October got direct deposited into a coworkers account. I checked my user profile on the company system and noticed my direct deposit information (ie. Checking and Routing#) had been altered. I talked to payroll and they said they would do a direct deposit reversal on my coworker's account and IF the reversal was successful they would give me a physical check. The coworker fought the direct deposit reversal so they didn't cut me a check I've been calling and emailing my job's HR and payroll depts. but they've been dragging their feet in resolving this . It would be nice to get paid for hours that I worked What should I do? Anyways, Happy New Year

in NJ. everyone in the store is allowed 7 minutes grace on either side of their scheduled punches in and out. now they’re saying front end can punch early but we have to stay at our registers until our scheduled punch out time, which would mean we’re punching out of the register on time and giving the company extra time on the time clock that we don’t get paid for. ex. 2:53pm-3:07pm = 4 hours pay.
The Message
Growing up I thought the message was one of the best hip hop songs. It crafted a tale of life in the ghetto. Fast forward I listened to the song today and realized “this sounds a lot like how we’re all living” just an observation or a rant but thanks for listening “Don’t push us cuz we’re close to the edge”
