Merry Christmas, plebes.
Happy Holidays all! I rewatched It's A Wonderful Life yesterday as I usually do this time of year and it still baffles me that such a classic and well-regarded movie has taught us nothing about improving the condition of the average person in this country. Below is George Bailey's infamous speech to Donald Trump . . . er . . . the Republicans . . . er . . . Mr. Potter. I have italicized the particularly poignant parts. This is not socialism. This is not a radical rant. This is basic human decency portrayed quite simply in a brilliant movie. Maybe one day we will learn that George Bailey was the good guy in that movie and we should stop allowing the Mr. Potters to control our country. George Bailey: Just a minute… just a minute. Now, hold on, Mr. Potter. You're right when you say my father was…
Resource allocation
A friend of mine works for a job she loves, however is being massively overworked. I told her that in my organisation we only schedule resources for 80% of their time as it is unlikely that a resource will be productive 100% of the time. We actually work in agile and I am aware that there are lots of principles to stop over allocation, however her work does not support agile ways of working (she works in engineering). She is over allocated by a huge amount, however her management don’t seem to agree and she has struggled to have the conversation with her LM. Does anyone have any advice?
