I tested positive for covid and I was out for a few days. Since I've gotten back, I've learned that they discontinued paid sick leave because they stopped be subsidized by the government.
The new 8 hour workday
I concede, perhaps we ARE just lazy bags of meat. We should enjoy working 8 hours a day. I know I would if it looked like: 1 hrs paid commute 4 hrs paid labor 1/2 hrs paid lunch 1/2 hrs administrative and clerical work (organizing, budgeting, paying bills/taxes, record keeping, setting appointments, auditing your paycheck because these greedy motherfuckers can’t be trusted to pay the wages that they owe, etc.) 1 hrs household chores (cleaning, cooking, gardening, recycling, running errands etc.) 1 hrs education That leaves our 8 hours recreation unfettered by trivial work for which employers have, since the disappearance of the stay-at-home spouse, escaped the cumbersome labor bill.
STOP CALLING IT “REQUESTING TIME OFF”

I’ve always thought they paid her peanuts too. So technically this is illegal and of course they’ve offered her a severance package (6 months salary of peanuts). She can’t claim EI coming off mat leave here and also has a 5 year old kid whose sperm donor has never paid a penny of child support and of course the new baby too (who…
