The Fair Tax is a proposal to replace the current income tax system with a national sales tax on all goods and services. The idea behind the Fair Tax is that it would be a more fair and efficient way of taxing individuals, as it would eliminate the need for complex tax codes and regulations, and would allow individuals to keep more of their own money. The Fair Tax proposal would also do away with the IRS, and would be collected by retail businesses at the point of sale. I just had an interview where they pitched their company like this. They didn’t get the memo that these words are red flags that mean toxic work environment.

About 6 weeks ago, a person on my team in a position higher than mine was fired for poor performance. I, being the top performer on my team (of course because the reward for hard work is more work) was asked to temporarily cover the role until it was filled. I was told the role would be posted “soon”, left open for 2 weeks and then interviews and a decision. Nothing has been done and the position hasn’t even been posted. I run a small store for a big corporation. I am the third from the bottom on pay scale, but I work very well by my self. So I was giving my own store. I work above my pay grade because I get bored most days. Sometimes I only 5 customer compared to a big store that has 30 to 40 a day. Long story short, I have been in retail and QSR management for a long time. Did well financially and wife got promoted so I took a few years off. I’m getting back into management potentially or at least consulting management teams. Can you give me some positive things to focus on? I know from experience treating people right is what creates the environment that breeds success. I am just rusty. Help.
