I don’t know if I should stay at my current job

So I've been working at Academy for almost 4 months and I was hired on a full time basis. For 2 months I've been getting 38-44 hours each week which was awesome for me. I honestly love working there, but 2 months ago we were assigned a new store director. Since then, my hours were cut. I was ranging from 24-32. I can get by on 32 but less makes things more difficult for my situation. But since the new director came in, my schedule lost its consistency. I had been working Mon-Fri 5am-1pm and would usually stay later to help. Now I'm going in a 3am working to 9pm so my hours are cut much more. I'm even starting to get more days off and they keep telling us it's because the store doesn't have enough hours. But at the same time they keep complaining we don't have enough…

For a company that would probably fire him if he discussed his pay, too.

My company just did a mass layoff. The “good severance” was one week.

Do I tell head of department in my 1-1 with them ?

So I joined this role over a year ago and we are a global team. In the global counterparts mainly AU and US, the managers know all the processes and get themselves involved. With my manager, they know nothing. They don’t know the processes at all. In my 1-1 with head of department, should I mention this ? Me and my manager – we won’t fully get on. They’ll always point questions to me about the process despite they’ve been manager of the team longer than I have been working in the team. For example, today the manager’s manager said to me I can watch a seminar at home as it’ll finish late. But the manager said to me to attend even though they knew it would take ages for me to get home as it finishes late and they were working remotely and I was in the office. Any…

Need some perspective on my situation.

Hello all, thanks for checking out my post. I am in need of some perspective on my current work situation. I apologize for any grammar, typos, punctuation or anything else I may miss. *Back Story* I was an event/venue manager until covid -19 wiped that out for me. Took some courses in Project management and quickly became a Project Quoter/Estimator for a renovation company, not quite what I wanted but I did it well, my boss liked me and trained me to be very proficient, I was there for almost 2 years. I ended up moving about an hour away for family reasons. I got poached for a similar quoting/sales position but in HVAC. The company is a few years old. I took the job…. Everything that was discussed at the meeting has slowly changed. My questions before taking the job: Is this full time?, Hourly or salary?, Will you…

Google Union Priorities

I’m in the Alphabet (Google) Workers Union, been a member for just under a year but not too active so far. I realize I have it pretty good, but a close friend was just laid off and I’m super energized to get more involved. I’m hoping that our platform can be a voice for change outside Google as well. I’m curious though, what does r/antiwork think we should advocate for?

Would it be OK to negotiate when bought out?

A company bought out the one my sister works for and is going to see if they have a spot to put some of the staff, including her, but she feels like she has no say over wages or anything like that because “they're doing them a favor” Do you think she could negotiate pay off she is offered a place?

No one ever offers to drive me home? Am I just selfish?

I work in a small office with only two other people (startup) and I'm the only one in our group without a car. At the end of every long day, I have to watch both of my co workers get in their warm and toasty cars while I wait 15-20 minutes in the freezing cold for my (usually delayed) bus route, directly across the street. I do enjoy the benefits of not having a car, but given that the three of us all live within 2 miles of each other, it's weird that no one has once offered to drive me. We all have excellent, meaningful, working relationships with one another. I should probably stop being petty but sometimes I do wonder.

Does this sound like a good opportunity?

I recently applied for a remote customer service position that pays $10 an hour, 40 hours a week, Monday through Friday. I'm currently washing dishes for $17 an hour, part time with about 25-35 hours a week. In the end, the pay would be about the same, $400 a week on average, and it also comes with more mobility and benefits. Honestly, I'm very eager to get out of the service industry. Staying at this company for 6 months to get customer service experience under my belt sounds like a pretty good idea to me, but I don't know. I don't know if I'm legally allowed to say the company, but I'll edit this later to add it if needed.
