I applied to many jobs as I'm taking a break from college (personal reasons) and entered many casinos etc to ask if they needed employees. So far so good. Now everyone I know kept telling me DO NOT TRY MCDONALDS!. I keep wondering is it really that bad, I've had jobs people hated and I didn't think were bad. I had an interview at a few mcdonalds locations and they were all awful. The staff didn't vibe with each other like I've noticed in other restaurants I applied to. They don't even talk. The managers are constantly mean and harsh. I got a call back within 1 hour after an interview and I told them I am not interested anymore I got the worst energy thrown over me and attitude. Using a burner account for anonymity I requested a reasonable accommodation through work to WFH. They sent me a 5 page, 20 question document for my doctor to fill out. He filled it out and sent it in. The answers from those questions has more than enough sufficient information to substantiate that I have an ADA disability and needs a reasonable accomodation. My HR rep just reached out to me now saying they have some “additional questions” for my doctor and asked me to fill out a HIPAA release form. Obviously am going to say no lol. Can they deny my request if I don't give them access to my medical history?

This is actually my husband's boss. He's the epiome of horrible boomer boss. He created some videos about succeeding in the work force. One was how to show effort in an interview. The example was for an architect being asked how tall the building they were in is. Interviewee 1 replies “oh I researched all the buildings of the companies I applied to. It's exactly this tall”. Interviewee 2 replied ” I'm not sure, let me find out for you”. He then goes outside and measures the buildings shadows to find height. He goes back in and gives an estimate based on his calculations. And this was incomprehensible time, but his boss said the 2nd interviewee was the good one! He claimed that going out to find the answer showed initiative. So somehow he sees initiative in leaving an interview to go find an approximate answer instead of being prepared…

About two years ago I had an interview for a job I had never done in my life. I didn't have the necessary experience they had laid out for the position and was in a field outside of my expertise. Anyways, I go into the interview not really knowing what to expect and started to chat with the three people who were interviewing me. My would be supervisor, the manager and someone else. So they ask the usual and when the “why should we hire you for this position?” Question comes up, I just straight up said “well, you have an open position and I'm looking for job, so why not?” They started laughing their asses off. I had always wanted to do that in an interview and since it was a job I thought I was never gonna get I just went for it. LoL

I work in a shop, my colleague is a secret coke head, I know this because every Friday when we’re on nights and the boss isn’t in, he will “pop out” come back empty handed and then be in and out the bathroom all night. I don’t give a fuck to be honest but him and my manager are super pally he’s an absolute kiss arse and I genuinely believe he thinks he’s smart enough to hide it, he says thinks like “can’t stop pissing today” he brings a nasal clearing spray in and says it’s for his sinuses. My partner and I work completely opposite schedules, Mine is 9 am to 6 PM Tuesday through Saturday, this is 9pm to 6 AM Friday through Wednesday. (Meaning he has Wednesdays and Thursdays off.) I work for a hospital, in their IT department, he works as a security guard for a casino. Both of us have asked our bosses to change schedules, both of us have seen our bosses give schedule changes to other people who haven't been there as long as we have… If either one of us had our requests granted we would at least have 1 day off a week together… I fucking hate it… I just want a day off with the man I am going to marry….
