Let's hear your stories!
I told him, your boss is underpaying you and it’s not my responsibility to make up for that – here’s a tip: you should stand up to him and demand a raise! The server paused for a moment, and with tears in his eyes, he hugged me! He said he never considered that, and thanked me over and over again for showing him the way. Then the owner came out and thanked me for helping him revolutionize his business model. I now get free food for LIFE! Wow I’m going to do this every time I go out to eat!
Long story short, I had a family medical emergency with my mother and it occurred late at night at about 1 am. She is fine but she needed emergency surgery. I checked my work calendar and informed my manager at 2 am via text message that I would be working from home so I can stay with her and work from my laptop. I had no meetings, no lab work, and no reason to be in office. He didn't respond, but he sent an email at 9:55am and said I had an unprofessional attitude for telling him I was going to WFH because I didn't request it previously and get his approval and if I WFH I needed to tell him exactly what I am going to accomplish. I sent him in response that my mother and I were in the emergency room, that I had no work that required…
First of all, I do not live in the US. I usually see a lot of people complaining about their jobs here, but I just thought a positive view would be welcome too. So, I’ve started as an intern making around 500 bucks working 4 hours and it was really cool. After that I was hired full time and can work from home and at the office. We have flexibility, so we can work at home, then at the office, leave the office at any time if there isn’t a meeting. We just need to do the hours requires early. I went on a cruise in the Bahamas, but I didn’t have a vacation and just agreed with my boss that I would do compensatory time afterwards. Left for a week, work half an hour more every day and compensated. Just wanted to share my cool story with you guys…
I am so tired of sneaky lazy co-workers
Taking short cuts and half assing tasks, knowing perfectly well that they are just making more work for me later. Hiding what they did and hoping I won’t see it or realize it. If everyone was a team player, it really wouldn’t be that bad. Yet there are always lazy entitled co-workers who think that certain parts of the job don’t apply to them. Doing the bare minimum for your boss is one thing, but being sneaky and lazy knowing perfectly well that you are leaving more work for your co-worker to do that you should be doing, is a really bad quality and I hope you all are more thorough when you wipe your asses after taking a dump. Rant over.
Hi everyone. I’m feeling conflicted on this potential opportunity I will know about by Thursday. I’ve been wanting to get into the tattooing industry since I was about 15, and have been working hard to do so. Monday night, I applied for a receptionist / assistant position at a very prestigious shop in my town known for winning a competition show. They have very little staff turnover, the interview seemed to have gone very well, and they will let me know by Thursday. The kicker here is I currently work 9-6 as a property manager for a storage company. While I appreciate my job employing me the last year, that’s pretty much all they’ve done. The shop I applied to would need me to come Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday for trial days to make sure I can handle the fast pace. However, I work Friday, Saturday, and single coverage…
I told him I'll try but no fucking way. It's not my problems we are short staffed. Hell the only reason I still work there is because I can afford to be paid 2 bucks above minimum wage thanks to my family buying me food and partial rent.
