Director Lied TO HR
I work at a regional hospital in one of the less desirable departments. I took this job three months ago for several reasons, mainly so I would be able to see my significant other (who also works there) and to be able to focus on my studies at college (working on my Bachelors, with a strong path leading to a Masters and PhD). When i took the job, they knew I was in college, but at the time, my schedules did not conflict. Due to my classes now being in person, I asked for a schedule change and was told they could not accommodate due to the nature of the scheduling system. So I went to my Director on Friday and asked him if I could be released from the department to work in another department where I could set my own hours and days. I explained that i had…
I have proof that the company I left late last year is being blatantly discriminatory and charging me for leaving early due to a scholarship contract but did not charge another coworker who also left early and also got the same scholarship with the same stipulations. The other coworker was a white male and I am a biracial female who also left after complaints of racism were not handled by the company and I was transferred to another location. I know this is just retaliation for my claims, especially since they didn’t make my other coworker pay. They also called the cops on me (quit after this one) claiming it was a wellness check after they told me not to come in cause they claimed they never got a return to work sick note from me. 8 years of my life and this is what I get.
Idk what to do or if I should just quit. I get reported MANY times for sleeping when i am awake. It’s when I am assigned to read material, and I do, and then someone anonymous will report any time i am still and reading that I am asleep. I can’t wiggle and move to prove I’m awake and focus on reading. If a place is that petty to have spies to watch me (and not do a good job) I don’t know what more I can do. Any advice?
today I was near two coworkers talking and joking about how little they make. One goes “I make 10.50 an hour I don’t need to be doing extra work” and the other guy goes “yeah I make 8.95 top that” and chuckled. I could not believe what I was hearing. I was hired on doing the same job as him at a starting wage of 12.50. The company was recently bought out by another larger one right before i started and he’s been here much longer than me. I didn’t say anything cause I didn’t want to intrude but I’m worried about him. I don’t know him at all, I’ve had maybe one conversation with him and he doesn’t even know my name. Should I bring it up with one of my cool managers or go to him about it first? I don’t want to make him uncomfortable but that’s…
