Put in my 2 weeks notice today
Just ranting to vent since I have no one to really talk to so thank you for reading: I am a guy who decided to go on a wild tangent last year and took up an offer at a small company that sells and resells construction materials, by virtue of a family member, and left a well paying job to do so. I was offered to be the assistant to the person (supervisor) making sales and the deal was that I was to gradually take on the tasks that he has been doing for years as he transitions to a more managerial position. I had no experience in this industry prior to this as I used to work in manufacturing in a different role but had transferable skills. I came to realize that the people working in this office are stuck 25-30 years in the past, I've even heard some…
Is this considered a violation of HIPAA?
So some backstory. Our GM fired our guest service manager back in October over harassment. So my GM opens the position for all front desk agents to apply for it. So I did, and after a few weeks, my GM opened up a new position for Assistant General Manager and got rid of the guest service manager. Our GM told one front desk agent to apply for it and that I wouldn’t get because I wasn’t qualified for it. 2nd instance. I know for a fact that this was a violation. I talked to my GM in private at the beginning of January about how much stress that they are putting me under and have gotten anxiety from it. Well the GM told the new AGM about my anxiety and then told my other coworker about it. I’ve started the process of reporting it to HR, but I’m skeptical cause…
I've had jobs since I was a teenager and I am in my 30s now. I used to be somewhat confident and comfortable, but now I don't even want to leave the house most of the time. I know I need to leave, my body is literally screaming for me to leave before it gets worse but I'm here asking myself…is this worse than if I just went to live on my own and be employed? Feel free to give a “Wow women have come full circle” hahaha. Allow me to vent about my last job which was actually…my best job. The last job I had seemed like…
Should the ‘anti work’ forum be renamed?
I feel like this forum isn’t really ‘anti work’ and paints a negative light. Honestly, it’s a forum about discussing bad companies and holding employers accountable. Doesn’t seem ‘anti work’ to me; Just seems like people want better conditions, pay and work environments.

tw: pet death . I've been working at this place for 1 month. Last week, after an emergency vet visit, my cat had to be put down. I told them I couldn't come in. They straight up fired me.
