Oh wait, must be something to do with the fact that youre earning at least $80/hr while we're only earning $6/hr because we're outsourced from a “third world country” P.s. Started this job a week ago and im quitting today. They run their company like a sweatshop, pressuring us to churn out as much content as we can squeeze in 8 hrs. No breaks, just the 1 hr lunch break. If you work too slow, HR will be called. Also, all of us on the lower end are outsourced so we're literally receiving pennies.
So I work at Starship Enterprises, an adult store. Recently, in my area, we had a large downpour of rain. My road was flooded due to this coastal city not having any sort of drainage for neighborhoods. I was late to my 4:00pm shift by 9 minutes and explained to them my situation that they were already aware of. They had set out a write up sheet for me to sign but forgot about it. I found it while the manager was out of the building and promptly disposed of it. After all, for something so minor they likely will not write up another write up for me to sign unless they are that petty.
I felt the need to share this because it was such a weird experience. I needed a second job and none of the other places I've applied to got back to me. Was offered $13 an hour to work at an adult toy store. It wasn't the products or the customers that chased me away, it was my coworkers and management. I watched as one coworker openly objectified female customers. In one moment, he was crouching on the floor and staring at a woman's ass, not even 10 feet away from her, his mouth open. I stared in disbelief at how non discreet he was about it. My other coworker (a woman in her 40's) saw it too and just laughed like this was just a guy being a guy, y'know, totally normal behavior. On one hand, I get it, it's an adult toy store, social norms are a little…
We need this here for decent wages.

Paid out of PTO?
I work in California (for a company that has their home office in Texas). Just got paid and noticed they paid out 4 days of “unused PTO”. On the one hand, I can always use 4 days extra pay; on the other hand, it would have been nice to accrue those days and use them along with this year's PTO time to make a decent length vacation. (Overall, I don't get much time off) I've never had an employer do this, so I'm wondering if this is a common practice? Many thanks in advance!
